  1. Yes MikeWa I was watching the KIRO weather and the Graphic they showed it was swirling out of the south west over us and back straight to you..... LOOK OUT
  2. OH No it happened again..... we may need military help again..... nearly 1.5 inches.... on the lawn. I think the V-Strom will be ok on the road tho. This soooo seldom happens to us... it will total Kaos trying to get to the mall for shopping
  3. Coffey.... as I recall from The Dalles it might have something to do with the music and maybe ... just maybe.... the pipes. Yup the brakes are quiet.... by comparison. I have a son who came home one day and told me his girlfriend thinks the brakes in his truck might be making noise..... they were about the same as yours. Never heard them for the music.... she heard them when he pulled up to pick her up. The bright side.... our sons learned how to do brake jobs.
  4. OK I call for a group hug ! I think all of us here at VR are thankful that you are part of our family
  5. But here our gasoline prices went up 10 cents a litre (45 a gallon) i just don't understand how that happens. The second barrel prices go up gasoline goes up... if barrel goes down it takes weeks for price to drop.
  6. Click and drag the orange balloon to where you want it.
  7. As soon as I saw the title I thought of Les Nessman!
  8. Hey Dave, check the members map and see who is close. Add yourself if you have not.
  9. The first gens had seemingly small battery cables. There was a member vendor who sold upgrade cables but do not recall who.
  10. I think it proves the ground system on the bike needs attention as mentioned. When the cables are connected the bike is using the vans ground system
  11. Thanks Don, change is difficult for many of us and for many of us with minimal technical skills on a computer make it more even more difficult. I thank you for all the work and your tolerance of the whining from us.
  12. Neighbor got caught by the "click here to confirm your info" from what looked like it was from her internet provider. I am unsure if she has any out of pocket but her email is now closed by provider after sending out over 3500 spam mails. Don't click the link!
  13. The link does not work that you sent
  14. having the Ebay and classifieds in the whats new is just great if your life revolves around ebay but most of us are not that into it.... I can google ebay anytime I feel the need. IF there was photos on the old site we must have been able to turn them off because they were never on my page. we also used to be able to minimize the stickys I think
  15. Puc.... I kinda wish I knew what to say in response to this. I even invited my wife Lori to read it to see if she could give me words. I am not sure if I should be sad you are going through this.... happy they found it.... excited to be able to follow you through this adVenture. What I will do is smile thinking of the guy I met in The Dalles and think of you and Tippy often and hope to see you ad another chapter to this thread frequently. I hope the HEALING starts soon. Kevin
  16. Tom you are right... let it melt! Stay safe, glad to hear the dog is safe. This happened to us here in Victoria over Christmas/new years 1996 we got about 3 feet of snow over the week before Christmas then on Boxing Day we got a dump of 4 feet. We do not usually get more than 4 inches in Victoria and it seldom lasts more than 24 hours if we do. Victoria does not own a snow plow! The last thing that roof needs is my fat arse up on it adding to the weight. We had several roofs collapse as the rain started later in the day. Stay safe.... stock up and relax...... have some ice cream
  17. nice bike.... but you are going to enjoy the Strom just as much. you will have to check out http://www.stromtrooper.com/ a good source of info on the bikes and on Youtube you can check on Dr.VStrom for all the maintenance info on them. Yes I have a an 08 650 A with ABS as a year round rider
  18. DIRE STRAIGHTS The walk of Life if I am not mistaken https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9_VOy7VipQ Oh and Boomer...... how is the new life in Europe ? Must have been a big move in life! If you go back to the map you can click and hold your marker and drag it back to the USA if you are at all interested.
  19. I think that will help Don, like many I was going to "whats new" and that is difficult to weed through. I will reset my "home" to the New posts are as often as not what we are looking for when we come on. I Think
  20. I think we need a "sticky" on how to adjust a bunch of these settings. I am on here on a mobile more than anything else, it is not as easy to maneuver as the old site so will likely not be on as much. My V-Strom site still uses the old format so when mobile will spend more time there I think.
  21. it is very quiet on my side of the world too..... but I was out riding today and I don't think any of those other makers were.
  22. I think I got it.... maybe..... what?
  23. You know.... I have an old 93 Dodge Dakota truck with about 150,000 miles on it that we bought for my son to drive. When he said he wanted to go to Saskatchewan, where they actually do have something called winter, I went out and dropped about $800 on a good set of tires for the old pig of a truck. I bet I could not sell the truck for that now but you know..... the kid drove that sucker back and forth 6 times and never did he get a flat tire. tires $800 .... peace of mind very expensive .... my son....... Priceless ..... bank of Mom and Dad.... always broke
  24. Push and hold Cntl and then click on the minus sign on top right of keyboard a time or two
  25. I think what Larry referred to was if you had been to a thread...others post to it.... when you returned on the top left was a bubble to go to the first new post... i think it said first unread. If that is what Larry referred I miss it also.
