  1. We watch it every year. I couldn't believe that a VW Thing went for more than a beautiful '56 Ford Fairlane! What are they smoking?-Jack:confused24:
  2. To the best of my knowledge the same company makes the Star bag and the Bestem. The Bestem is much cheaper. I like mine just fine and have had no problems with it staying on. I also bought the bags for the side bags and the trunk bag.-Jack
  3. I've been considering the Road Hound pet carrier. It seems to be well made and safe in the event of a drop or minor accident. Not cheap though.-Jack
  4. http://www.road-hound.com/ Anyone had experience with one of these? Do they have a good mounting system for the RSV?-Jack
  5. Whoa! I think that's the first VV we've had on here. Nice! How do you like it?-Jack

  7. I just put my check in the mail yesterday. For $25 more the motow service is available which is like AAA for motorcycles. I'll most likely get that for the peace of mind.-Jack

  15. A work of art! Beautiful!-Jack:cool10:
  16. Got mine last week. I was tickled to see the 2nd gen on the cover too. I think they used it cause it matches nicely with the red caboose in the background. I noticed it has the slash cut roadking muffler mod.-Jack
  17. Repeat after me: Front brake, front brake, front brake.....
  18. A lot depends on the type of work you do and your level of experience. The internet has made long distance job seeking a lot easier in many instances. Moving south 26 yrs ago is one of the best things I ever did but it was a roll of the dice and was damn tough for about the first 3 years. Most people I knew that tried it didn't hit a pot of gold in the first year and moved back with the excuse "well, I tried". It's not enough to try, you have to DO it. JMO.-Jack
  19. Anyone here ever go to Americade? We're thinking about going this coming year. Ride the BRP and Skyline drive, up to Americade, visit a friend in Vermont and then back in NY to visit family there. Got the Americade times in the mail yesterday and now I'm psyched up and starting to make plans. Any recomendations on where to stay?-Jack
  20. They're the 2 chrome strips on the 2nd gen fairing. A lot of people remove them so someone on here should have an extra. -Jack
  21. What difference does it make that it's almost winter? Oh, I forgot, some of you poor folks don't get to ride all year!:rotf::rotf:-Jack
  22. There are plenty of sites on the web to bicker, bit** and flame. Here we share our common love for our machines and biking lifestyle. Thanks Don!-Jack:cool10:
  23. I always ask myself how I'm gonna get out before I go in. But even good planning can be foiled by some moron blocking you in. I wouldn't turn down reverse if it was an option but it's not a deciding factor in my choice of bikes. If it was I wouldn't be on a Venture in the first place!-Jack
  24. I ride to work when I work weekends. 90 mi each way. I rode in last fri and sun. 360 miles riding to work and back. It's like getting paid to ride!-Jack:mo money:
  25. Congrats on both counts Lewis! Even if the Bulldogs did get the dirty end of the stick!-Jack
