  1. When a Harley rider says he has been riding "some" he means to the corner bar when the temp is over 50. I'll ride 90 miles one way to work in 25 degree weather with my heated gear. I haven't seen any Harleys (or many other bikes at all) out in that.-Jack
  2. "While the Crown case initially questioned the sincerity of Mr. Badesha's religious convictions, its main argument is now based on increased costs to the health system, should helmetless Sikh motorcycle riders end up suffering head injuries." Get ready to hear this argument in the States if we ever get Hillarycare or Obamacare. It will be used to try and regulate everything from cigarettes to firearms.-Jack
  3. There is an unincorporated area and a voting district near where I live known as Hemp Town. Hemp was an important crop in early America. Thomas Jefferson grew hemp as one of his main crops.-Jack
  4. The way I understand it, driving a car or motorcycle on the public hwys has always been considered a Priviledge ( http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Priviledge ), not a right. Therefore the state can set requirements governing that Priviledge.
  5. Sure! I enjoy following the travels and adventures of other motorcyclists. Especially if lots of pics are involved. Have you ever checked out this forum- http://www.advrider.com/. Fascinating stuff from all over the world.-Jack
  6. They are the Yammie lamps and they are the right part # according to their website. The problem is that I got them off ebay though they were packaged like new. I'll have to contact the seller and see what he'll do.
  7. I started to install my passing lamps today and discovered the turn signals don't fit on the "turn signal adaptors". The adaptors are too big for the turn signals. They're not even close! I removed the grommet on the turn signals and they're still not close. What's up with this! Am I screwing up or did the give me the wrong parts? I just looked at my 97 RSTC and the turn signal mounts are a larger diameter than my Venture. Did they change the Diameter on the newer Venture? mine is an 07.-Jack:bang head:
  8. Sorry to hear that. Thank God it wasn't worse with him driving.-Jack

  12. Headlight and brakelight modulators. Best bang for the buck safety mod imo. You can wire any extra lighting in the rear to the modulator also.-Jack
  13. General Lee predicts an early spring! I say we go with the best 3 out of 4! http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/myfox/pages/News/Detail?contentId=5659796&version=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=3.2.1
  14. I'm going to install mine this weekend(I hope). Here's a diagram for the relay. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=525 I think the idea is to keep all the juice from running through the ignition switch which could cause it to fail.-Jack
  15. I guess I'll just wait for the chip implant.-Jack
  16. Too cold to ride? I don't think so!
  17. My wife loves her FirstGear Jacket. Here's a thread describing it. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17118 Honda of East Toledo has many other makes and styles at the lowest prices I have found. They're good to deal with through their ebay store also. I just bought 2 pair of Firstgear H2 overpants from them to go along with the jackets. I would highly recommend them.-Jack http://stores.ebay.com/Honda-East-Toledo
  18. I called Avon customer service and they said if you run 50 psi in the rear they will run cooler and last longer. I put 50 in the rear and 45 in the front.-Jack
  19. After getting only about 2K miles from my last Dunlop D404 rear tire, I decided there was no way I would buy another for the RSV so I put on a set of Avon Venom X tires. Holy cow, what a difference! Granted, the D404 was wore slap out and the stock Brickstone on the front was looking rough after 11k miles but this thing feels like a sportbike compared to what it was like! Rode about 100 mi 2 up today down GA hwy 60 through Suches to GA19 then over to US 129 and over Blood Mtn. Some good twisties! I was having a ball flicking (well almost!) the RSV through the curves. For anyone looking for a new set of tires I would highly recommend them. I'll have to wait and see how many miles I get from the but they've got to be better then the Dunlops!-Jack

  23. I got a set of the RK's on ebay like new for $35, got Squidley's bracket and a clamp, drilled out the front baffle and they're as loud as I want on a touring bike. Nice V8 sounding rumble. I put my new stockers away for possible future use. All for less than $100 total.-Jack
  24. Sorry to hear about your mishap. Let us know how you're doing. Here's a link to diagrams for the RSV.-Jack http://www.venturerider.org/private/RSVparts.pdf
