  1. I just had mine replaced for the same condition. That was my third Garmin that had failed due to the touch screen malfunctioning. One 2610 and now two Zumo 550's. After the first Zumo failed far out of warranty I sent it in for repair and payed the $150 for a refurbished unit. A little over a year later and out of warranty it failed for the same condition. This time, about 3 weeks ago, I called Garmin and expressed my displeasure at having now 3 screen failures and they very quickly and politely agreed to replace this one under warranty. I've had them stick on a single button, pick one point on the screen and it selects something two inches away and sometimes it would randomly select things as I travelled down the road. I read somewhere on the Zumo forums that this is a common issue and you can sometimes clean the dirt from under the bezel around the screen and improve the condition. Dennis
  2. The photos are up on the Moonshine photo site now. They begin around page 140. http://www.moonshinephoto.com/ Dennis
  3. Lewis, Thanks to you, Charlene, Jamie and Paula for pully of a great weekend. Valerie and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we met some really great people. We made it home about 1:15. Dennis

  6. Here are a few photos from our ride to the Dragon today..... http://s586.photobucket.com/albums/ss304/midrsv/Vogel2/ It was a great day and only about 10 minutes of rain. Dennis
  7. Here are a few photos from today. We rode to Helen, some tubed, some shopped, and some continued to ride. We had a good lunch with friends. I couldn't figure out how to upload to the VR Photobucket account so I just created a new one. http://s586.photobucket.com/albums/ss304/midrsv/ Dennis

  9. That's what I like, positive thinking. I just checked the weather for my trip down tomorrow and through the weekend tomorrow may be a bit ugly with 60% chance of rain. But that means I've got a 40% chance of avoiding it. The rest of the weekend is predicted to have rain chances of 30% to 50% so that means I get 50% to 70% no rain. Good enough odds for me. Besides, there are plenty of hotel between Lexington and Blairsville if I need to hold up a day. Hope to see everyone tomorrow afternoon. Dennis
  10. So sad. I clicked on the thread hoping to hear of his improving condition. Although I never met him, I still feel a loss of family. Our prayers go out to his family. Dennis
  11. Bill, I want to be like you when I grow up! Like you, no kids to leave stuff to. I want to my last dollar and last breath to run out the same time and I really don't care if the last check bounces. DT
  12. My wife and I are leaving for Vogel on Wed morning from Lexington via I75 through KY and TN. Anyone headed south that would like to meet up and travel together? We'll probably leave Lexington around 8:00 AM. Dennis
  13. I had the new shock installed today with no problems. I like that warranty and my dealer. Dennis
  14. OK, I'm switching to the HIE. Still coming in on Wed. Thanks for the update. Dennis
  15. The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Got a new fuel pump under warranty. Dennis
  16. We'll be staying at the Best Western in Blairsville. http://www.bestwesterngeorgia.com/hotels/best-western-milton-inn/
  17. I had the same problem on my left rear latch. The rear latch required quite a rap to get it to latch. I removed the plastic covers from the latches and loosened the latch screws and moved it up slightly. It latches much better now. DT
  18. I don't know if I want to pour salt in that wound. I may leave that to you. Dennis
  19. The model number is AP-MD1001 and is by Active Products. The UPC number is: 0-94922-74845-4 Dennis
  20. I was in Walmart yesterday looking for something and stumbled across a "Quick and Easy" motorcycle dryer. It looks exactly like the Air Force Blaster sold by shops for up to $200. I have a friend that paid $180 for his. I knew they were expensive but there was no price on the ones in Walmart. I took one to a clerk for price check and it was only $20, that's right $20. Didn't have to think about that very long. It has the same specs (4.0 hp, 29,400 ft/min air) and accessories that are shipped with the air blaster. For a picture see: http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=B3%2DCD Apparently this is a close-out item at Walmart so you may have trouble finding it. Dennis
  21. I spoke with Brad this morning and he was able to get his windshield back on and functional even if it is broken. He's going to stop in Lexington on his way home and we'll swap it out for a good windshield. Thanks to all for the offers of help. Ya gotta love this site! Dennis
  22. I don't know any details Joe. He just said it was slow speed and he was alone when it happened and everyone is OK. He said the windshield is broken and the fairing is scuffed a bit. We had a generous offer from Nighthawk to meet up with me tonight to get my windshield and then he would get it to Kevin on Saturday but unfortunately I had previous commitments for tonight and couldn't do my part. So at this time I'm still planning to meet Kevin in Lake City on Sunday morning. Dennis
  23. Unless another plan works out better, I'm planning to ride down to Lake City, TN from Lexington Sunday morning. Kevin and Sue will ride sans windshield from Gatlinburg to Lake City. We'll fix him up there. Dennis
  24. I've got one too and it doesn't have holes. I'm just trying to devise a plan to get it to him by Saturday. Dennis
  25. Here's an update. I got a call from my dealer today and the new shock was just delivered today and I'm having it put on Tuesday. Dennis
