  1. I had mine custom made, I do not like the Harley look so mine are brown and western cut. Matches my brown jacket..Advice: always get them two inches longer than you think fit.you can always cut them off below the last snap.

  7. My '86" sound system was slowly going down hill. I know they're a lot of tech fixes and upgrades out there. but I'm sound system impaired, so here is a great cheap upgrade. Pull the fairing signal covers off and remove the stock speakers, replace with Wal-Mart replacement upgrades, about $30 bucks, buy a cassette tape adapter $6 bucks(Wal-Mart with the cord adapter.) borrow your kids IPOD(after they put your music on a playlist), plug it in ,stick it in the leather side pocket and WOW what a great sound, works even in a high wind..
  8. On my bike (I realize they're all different)I find that the first bar can very a whole bunch , but usually about 1 to 1 1/2 gallons are gone when it disappears, then each bar from then on is real close to a 1/2 gallon.other than the last one. Having ran out of fuel ONCE in my life on my bike in the middle of the Wyoming desert, I never run under a half of tank when possible. Besides the older I get the less I like traveling over a hundred miles or so with out a pit stop..
  9. If you ride with a passenger you better get a second opinion, on my bike the height seems to make a big difference to my wife..

  11. While riding through Yellowstone Park and heading into West after "doing the Bear Tooth"my head light went out. I pulled everything apart at a gas station and could not find a problem anywhere. Ended up driving 90 miles with my driving lights. The next day my mechanic beat his head against the wall looking for the gremlin. I made a jumper with alligator clips to at least have a low beam functional. Then I found the problem ,a sticky starter switch, it was not coming fully back out which cut out the headlight. (duh) A little W-D 40 on the switch and the light came back on . The jumper is tucked away inside the fairing just in case. Thought I might share this one, it's awful dark out there...
