Last summer I got some Peameal Bacon sliced thick from Carl for a BBQ party. Mozzerella Cheese melted on it and put in a fresh bun. The BEST combo we like. All the folks that were here loved it. If you havn't tried it you should. I shouldn't have started... now my mouths watering and it's freezing outside... gotta wait... gotta wait.. another couple months of this.. hmmm... will I stay sane?

In Ontario we use mostly paint but in some busy areas there are reflectors in the road. Due to snow plows they are recessed into the road and usually not a problem on a bike. Now if we sent some snow your way and your municiplity invested in plows it would take care of the problem for you

Theory has it that the bell must be mounted as close to the bottom of the scoot as possible to ward off the road demons. My question is what do you use to attach it to the scoot so it looks good? Somehow a nylon electrical tie dosen't cut it for me.

Victor: You could fly into Toronto and rent a scoot from here. http://gtaexotics.ca/portal/ or a Harley from here http://www.harleytoronto.com/miscpage_001.asp or a variety of choices from here. http://www.rental-motorcycle.com/namerica/canada/toronto_rental.html Hope this helps Wayne

The image resizer only works as a right click. You find the image you want to change then right click on it and choose resize. It then gives you some standard choices as well as a custom size choice. I use that little utility all the time. Very handy.

Hey Brad: Yes I'm coming to the Meet and Greet but I mostly want the headsets for communication so I will want the speakers in my helmet or against my ears or whatever. Your setup just using the bikes speakers would be ok for the CB but not for talking to my navigator. I guess I'm trying to decide on whether or not I want to get a 3/4 helmet. The Navigator wears a full modular helmet. If I get a 3/4 helmet then I will get the JM headsets and if not I'd need to get something like the helmetless headsets from Sierra. Wayne

Thanks for the response Jay. Do you know if the boom on the 8154 mic is long enough for a half helmet? Wayne

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I was able to aquire a CB and amp etc out of a 90 VR to put into my 84 which comes with nothing. I got the AMP, the CB, front and rear controllers and SOME of the wiring. It appears I am missing something. Not sure how this goes together. I have one hole open on the AMP that has to go to one of the headsets. I have a wire with split in it that looks to go to the front and a headset can be plugged into it as well as a hand mic (which I got as well) but it dosen't have a wire to plug into coming from the AMP. This is the wire I think I'm missing. I also don't seem to have anything to plug the controllers into. There is a 3 point plug part way down the one cable that I do have coming from the AMP but the plug isn't the same. Question is can someone tell me what I need. Point by point what gets plugged into what so I can look for the missing parts. (maybe someone might even have the missing parts??) Any help would be appreciated... Wayne

I know this topic has be hashed over a few times but I was wondering if anyone had tried the helmetless headsets from Sierra http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=IMC%2DHS%2DG45U It appears that they would also work with a half helmet. If they are any good I would be able to keep my half helmet and not have to purchase a 3/4 helmet. But I was thinking they might be noisy. Wayne

Moving passenger headset Plug-in

It looks like the old style keyboard plug. From an earlier computer such as a 386 or 486 -
Hey Brad: That's a pretty scary sight. Glad you gave me a preview.

Carl: I can come over on the weekend sometime and take some pics for you. Gotta have a picture record of such an endevour.. besides I want to see what Scamper looks like without all the plastic and chrome. Do you have the engine out yet? Wayne

Well done Carl... When do you get to test drive the new arrival?

I think I'd vote for the late 85 model. Has a somewhat larger trunk but the bags are all still removable. Still has the 1200 engine and 2nd gear was fixed by then. (Just wish it came in Gold :-))

I was diagnosed in October. Both of my kids are type 1 and have been since 4 and 6 years old. They are now 21 and 22. I'm not impressed either but gotta live with it. I lost 20 lbs over the summer. I'm taking 4 metformin a day and it seems to be helping now. I have had to change my eating habits. Use to eat whenever and whatever I wanted. Never had breakfast and would have a burger or whatever for lunch then eat a giant dinner and snack most of the evening. NOW I have to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have to eat less but more often. All I can say is stay away from sugar and keep the starches to a minimum. Lots of protein and lots of exercise. That last one is the tough one for me. I do computer work for a living so sit at a desk most of the time. Finding time for exercise is hard but I know that if I don't do it life isn't going to be as much fun. Hang in their my friend. Life is what you make of it. Wayne

OK I'm not the sharpest nail in the box.... I found this link to Freebird's installation of Mic Mutes. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=992 Looks like a good system. push and release either push to talk button and the mics are live. push and release again and they are off. Push and hold to talk over the CB. GREAT idea!!!

So what I'm seeing is that I need to push the cb push to talk button to talk to the navigator? That would mean that I'd also be broadcasting on the CB whatever I was saying to her?

Guys have a look at Mic-Mutes.......well worth the money IMHO...I found without them the wind noise was very annoying to say the least. http://mic-mutes.com/ Keith From what I can see the mic-mutes turns the intercom into a push to talk system. Where would the push button be? Is the wiring the same on the 1st gen as it is on the 2nd gen? I can see this being of interest. Wayne

Is there someone close to you with a 1st gen so that you can try your radio in their bike and vise versa? I have a problem with mine and sound only comes out of one side. I've determined that the cassette and radio on the top are not the problem so it has to be the main unit inside the fairing or a broken wire somewhere. Marcarl let me put mine in his bike and it worked fine. His in my bike did the same thing.

REZ: I just noticed you are in Stoney Creek which is very close to me (Caledonia) maybe we can get a deal if we order together. Sierra offers free shipping on orders over $199.00 and I have another friend ordering as well so that would save a couple of bucks and give us an excuse to get together and talk about stuff as well as plan future rides. I'm looking at the exact same thing. I have an 84 VR and have a CB out of a 90 on it's way. I ride double 98% of the time (My wife loves riding as much as I do which means I am very blessed). Communications between us is important and with other riders in the group is important. I have a half helmet so I'm guessing I'll be in the market for a 3/4 helmet as well. The problem with Wingstuff is that they will only ship UPS which is a major rippoff coming over the boarder. They burn us for lots of $$ on brokerage fees. If Wingstuff would ship USPS I would buy there as well. Apparently http://www.sierra-mc.com/products.asp?cat=314 has the same sets for $68.00 and will ship USPS so it is cheaper there. Someone awhile ago found them for $59.00 somewhere else but I can't find that thread. Sierra also sells a set of wires that plug into the radio and then the headsets plug into these wires. If the bike dosn't have them on it they cost about $60 as well. Is this (and it sounds like it is) the best deal out there?

Brad and Lonna: I'm very sorry to hear about your accident. Bummer that the scoot is gone but good news that you two are going to be OK. God be with you and we are going to be praying for a speedy recovery. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Wayne & Robin
