  1. Hey Bob: That would be AWSOME!! But if we decide on a CANADA day ride you could still come.. I heard somewhere that you are off work for a wee bit... You could come the night before and stay at our house. Lets see what pans out. Wayne
  2. Now that is a GREAT question. I like the idea of a Canada Day ride. It is a HOLIDAY after all.
  3. Not if they are getting parts from the likes of me....
  4. For those that don't know it yet. Marcarl and Wizard765 go for a ride most Tuesday evenings weather permitting. Anyone wishing to enjoy the evening with us is encouraged to come along. We meet up at Marcarl's about 6:30 and head out. Tonight was awsome! Perfect weather. Ice Cream. Great Roads.. this is the life. Wayne
  5. Check this site out. http://bludolphintravel.com/gmg/marshallmod.htm I have the fold down adapter. I got it because the original antenna was too long to get under the garage door without bending every time. My new antenna is shorter so I took it off. You can have it if you want. Wayne
  6. Thanks Thom: I like that idea and will look into it. Wayne Hey Mike (Snaggletooth): I like the color of yours too. I really like the look of the 87 scoop on yours. I've been watching fleabay for one of those. That year the color matches. I already have the front engine guards so it would be easy to bolt on. Looks like we have pretty much the same bumper. Are your brake lights LED? Wayne
  7. Thanks guys. I have tested the selenoid and it is fine. The bike actually starts fine all the time but slower when hot. Now with the Odyssey and if I remember to turn off the highway lights it is better than it use to be. Just thinking the V-Max will put it to rest. Wayne
  8. Buddy Rich on this site sells an adapter. I'm sure someone will pipe in here but I heard they work great. I have a 1st gen and am ordering one for that.
  9. I have the upgraded stator and I like the charging rate. Battery is up to snuff all the time. I think I could even add more lights:thumbsup2: I was just thinking about the better starter that came on the V-Max for piece of mind. I think I will have a look though before I do that. Maybe cleaning and new brushes will solve it. Thanks for the info. Wayne
  10. How long did it take to do the circle? About how many miles? Looks to be an excellent trip.
  11. Are you sure you didn't make a detour to Arkansas? My wife and I were shocked when we went to visit my Sister there. We were in a minivan and the limit on a 2 lane hwy with no shoulders was 55. We were running a little late so pushing 70 mph. We got passed by an old lady who gave us the finger like we were holding her up or something. Trucks passed us like we were standing still. This was north east part of the state and was flat as a pancake so we could see forever... Wayne
  12. I have an 84 VR and am not happy with the hot starting issue. Changed the cables and using an Odyssey battery. It has never NOT started but sometimes makes me nervous. Can someone tell me what years of the V-Max would fit? Wayne
  13. Bob: This is good news... maybe you can milk this a bit and get Becky to wait on you for a few days.... Wayne
  14. Does modulite make a unit that does not convert to a 4 wire system? My trailer is set up with separate turn signals the same as the bike but I'd like to use an isolator as well. What I'm seeing is that the modulite always converts to joined brakes and signals. Wayne
  15. This is GREAT news. Robin and I are looking forward to doing some riding with you two soon. Wayne
  16. Hey My Friend: Did you want some company on the road for part of the trip? Wayne
  17. Carl: I don't have one but my guess is that the majority here are going to say the Zumo 550. The 450 is almost the same without Bluetooth but discontinued. The new 660 is bigger with a wide screen and all the features of the 550 but without XM radio. I'd be interested in hearing someone give their views on the 2820 as well. Hang in there and I'm sure you are going to get a FEW opinions soon. Wayne
  18. How well does the hands free work on these? Blue tooth? What headsets work? In our area soon it will be a hefty fine if you are caught on the phone while driving. Wayne
  19. Wow Bob..... What news to come home to.. Robin and I are so happy that you and Becky came out OK... Like everyone says the bike can be fixed or replaced... God be with you. Wayne
  20. Sure thing.. My address: 89 Glenmor Place Caledonia, Ont. Wayne
  21. Bob: Last year we all tried to meet in Fort Erie around 4 or 5 and that got messed up a bit due to lack of metal identification so we got out of Fort Erie later than planned. Stayed in Erie Penn. for the night and got up early for breakfast. Then on to Freebird's. Was a nice trip. I Know you are intending to head out earlier and go right to Oberlin. Let us know if you change your mind and want to join us. We will look for you and figure out a meeting place. Wayne
  22. YAY!! I'm reading into this that you got GOLDIE running right. Looking forward to seeing you and Becky. Wayne
  23. Thanks for the ride. Nice roads. I just might have to visit Iowa sometime to try those out. I think I'm jealous. Wayne:clap2:
  24. Hey Bob: Any luck or headway with this problem?? We are getting concerned about you... Wayne
  25. They will fit but you need to make a bracket to support your exhaust. I have MkII passenger rests on my 84 and the navigator loves them. On the Mk1 the exhaust is supported by the footrest bracket. Bongobobny helped me make brackets for mine and they work perfectly. Wayne
