We left the Hub on Thursday morning so that we could visit with my Sister who lives in Ravenden Ar. Had a nice visit and stayed the night. Ride across Arkansas was excellent. My sister and her husband bought us breakfast at 7:30 Friday morning in Pocahontis AR and we headed out. We are now in Coldwater Michigan. Made pretty good time and had no problems. Gonna get some shuteye and should be home tomorrow (Saturday) night. Hey Carl (and anyone else) want to ride Sunday afternoon?? Wayne

on his knee playing baseball last night. Very swollen and he can't walk on it so it looks like the trip to the Hub is not gonna happen. Now we are asking for a miracle from the LORD and anyone inclined to help in that respect would be appreciated. If the LORD wills it then a miracle would put him back on his feet. Wayne

You can get a midi connector at most music stores and if you get the extension cable it is shielded and has both connectors. I did that and used heat shrink tubing to seal it up. Wayne

I would hazard a guess that if you found which of the harness wires was the power supply wire it could be rewired to a supply that is on with the key as oppose to accessories. I don't know if we have a diagram to show that but I'm sure someone here will be able to tell us which wire... Wayne -
Ok... I got it. Cooler will work. Coolatron = too much draw. Now I gotta find me a cooler I like..... Hmmmm... Those stainless steel Colmans look good but pricey... Wayne

5 years? I only have to repack the bearings every 5 years? I was just thinking the buddies would give me peace of mind. I could check to see if the grease is ok with a glance and without taking it apart.

I wasn't intending to leave it over night. I have an adapter for the wall that I would use in the motel etc. I was actually thinking of using a relay to power it so that when the key was off it would not run the unit. Just wanted to know if the stator would power it and still keep my battery charged.

I am going to be pulling a trailer with cooler on the front. I was wondering if a coolatron would be OK. I don't know the power requirements for the coolatron and I don't know if the stator would be up to the task. So does anyone here know if this would work or should I just keep buying ice? Wayne

I would really like to use bearing buddies on my harbor freight trailer. Mostly for peace of mind. BUT I cannot find the right size. Does anyone know the size that I need? Wayne

What years did you want pictures of? I have a backrest for 83 to 85 and it mounts completely different than the ones for 86 and up. Wayne- 30 replies

I didn't know I had to. What I did was take the nut finger tight then went another flat using an impact gun then bent the tab back to hold it. It isn't going anywhere. I certainly hope I didn't screw anything up but it works perfect. Wayne -

Wow!! You guys are AMAZING!!! Ok I went out and even with my limited skills I was able to remove the clutch cover and then removed the basket. You were right and a couple of the pins were loose. I just pushed them back in and rebent the little metal holder things to make them stay put and put everything back together. Now it shifts like a charm. Got it all done in time for Bob and Becky to show up. Sleepy2 was already here and we all went for a ride. Hot dogs in Port Dover. Ice Cream at the Grand Island BBQ and great company. Gotta love this place. I got home thinking I'd be down for weeks while I pulled the motor and rebuilt the tranny. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! Brian: It is an 84 with 84,000 Kms Wayne -

Thanks guys: I'm going to pull the clutch cover and have a look. Hopefully that is the problem and I won't have to pull the motor. Here's hoping... Wayne
