Tie GPS to Intercom - input from electronics gurus please
Wizard765 replied to MiCarl's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Herb: You're 765T I believe has a mic input on the mount. I know my 785T does as well. You are right it is not on the GPS itself. I had some messing around to do to get mine attached to the bike using the garmin mount so that I could have mic input. Wayne -

not running straight
Wizard765 replied to emtdouggood's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If the steering head is too tight it would cause this as well.. I had mine too tight at one point and I couldn't keep a straight line at all. -
Hey Tom: I'm thinking of joining you for this shindig. I'd have to leave around 6:30 to get there in time... Wayne

83 and 84 are a direct swap. 85 will work if you get the mounting bracket directly under it and it is larger. 86 and up is not the same but if you get the hardware with it can be done.

I have a MKII CB installed in my MKI. I moved the class up to the front and put the CB in that spot. I had to make a filler out of the plastic that I took out. Works fine and looks like it is suppose to be there. You need to get the CB and the mounting bracket. You also have to do a little wiring. The hardest part to get was the cable that goes across from the CB to the Radio with the right angle plugs.

Don: I see the sizes from small to 3X large and I'm assuming those are men's sizes. I've lost some weight so I ordered Lrg for me. My wife is pretty small so a men's small would still be way to big. Are there ladies sizes as well? Wayne

For the hard core Sci-Fi folks there are a few books that Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle collaborated on. Separately they are so so authors. I liked Ringworld by Niven but is is a little dry. BUT together they are superb. I especially liked A mote in God's Eye. They did Fallen Angel and Lucifer's Hammer as well as a few more.. all excellent.

The 84 (mk1) is supported by the passenger foot rest bracket and the 86 (mk2) is supported at the frame. I don't believe they will easily fit. I am using Mk2 mufflers on my 84 and had to make brackets to make it work. Wayne

I flew RC for many years. Joined a local club and became an instructor then president of the club for 5 years. Not flying outdoors any more. Still fly a little with an indoor micro heli. Got a garage full of RC stuff collecting dust. No time for that hobby now but was a lot of fun at the time. I also started with flat track oval RC cars.. I really liked scale or stand off scale. If you have any video editing software then you can rip the dvd to your computer and import the video that has the song you want. Once in the video editing software you can separate the audio track from the video track and save it as an mp3 which you could then put on your ipod. You can use a program called DvD Shrink to get the DvD to your computer and then there is a free program that will convert from video to mp3. http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/guides/dvd/extract-audio-from-video-to-mp3.htm Hope this helps. I got turned onto science fiction many years ago with Heinlein's Glory Road and then read everything from him including Stranger in a Strange Land. Then read Clarke and Asimov. My favorite author right now would be Orson Scott Card. His Enders Game series is fantastic. Wayne

Need trailer hitch for 1988 Venture
Wizard765 replied to cimack77's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have one. It's a Markland and in pretty good shape. I bought it for mine but it's for a MkII and Mine is a MkI. Wayne -
I was told that a starter from a 2nd gen would fit. I think it was Squeeze. Anyhow if that worked then it would also be a better starter and should be easy to come by.

Both of my daughters are type 1. They have been since very small (4 and 6) The oldest one is now on a pump. She does everything. Scuba diving, Rock climbing, Swing dancing. Hiking, Kayaking and Canoeing. She travels whenever she can. Australia for 10 months and just recently Greece for 4 months. It for sure does not slow her down but she does have to be prepaired. I'm now type 2 and trying to get a handle on it. I need to stop cheating. So far I'm getting by with pills but have been told that insulin is in my future. Wayne

Dragerman did a mod like you are talking about. Maybe if asked nicely he will pipe up with his solution. Looked real good and worked like a charm. He kept his original horn and added a steble as well with a different button just above the original. Wayne

When I first got my progressives I hated them. It felt like I was under water when I moved my head looking down. I had given up my old glasses to be made into sun glasses so these new ones were the only ones I had. I had no choice but to keep using them. Fortunately the optomitrist had warned me about it. So I got use to them and after that I really liked them. I would not have anything else. I DID have to learn to turn my head to look at stuff at the sides like the clock on my radio in the car. If I just moved my eyes everything was out of focus. After awhile turning my head became automatic and I don't think about it any more. Anyhow the trick for me was to give it time (at least 2 weeks) to get use to them. Wayne

I have two of the Ram cup holders on my scoot (84 VR) and the passenger one is on the grab rail. It sits just above the right saddle bag. Works perfect and easy to get to. In your case the top of the bag comes off so I would think the longer arm would get it out of the way. My bag opens like a clamshell so the middle length arm is perfect. Wayne
