So we left South Bend on Thursday morning. Made it to Petroski that night and now we are in Little Current on Manitoulin Island. Gonna tour the Island in the morning and pick up the Ferry to Tobermory tomorrow. Should be home late tomorrow night. Having an AWESOME trip. Did the tunnel of trees on the north shore of the peninsula. WOW! The ride into the island was also excellent. Really looking forward to tomorrow ride as well. When we get home I'll try and get some pics uploaded... Was a GREAT time at the Rally.. Looking forward to the next one. Wayne

Kevin: Just wanted to say thanks.. If people like you don't step up to the plate these events don't happen and we would all miss out... We had an AWSOME time and like you it's all about the people.. This feels like a family and I know I got to spend some quality time with brothers and sisters.. Sooooooo Thanks Kevin (and Sue) for going all out for US.... Wayne

OK I'll bite... How do you do THAT??? We have been having some fun with the Zumo 660's But we do have issues with standing in the same spot looking to go to the same spot and have two different routes. Also if I export a route to my card and he imports the route it isn't even close to the route I made BUT it works fine the other way around.. If he makes a route and exports to me it works fine... Weird?? Wayne

Only 6 volts at turn signals?
Wizard765 replied to CaliforniaRSV's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Relays are easy.. There are usually 5 spade connectors on a relay. One goes to power. One goes to ground. One goes to signal in (activates the relay) and 2 go to Power out to your light(s). I ran a (1)fused power wire to the back of the bike from the battery. Then I powered all my LEDs from that. I also ran a ground wire. Then I tapped into the existing harness for signals (I also did brakes and running lights) to activate the relays. You can purchase the relays at pretty much any auto supply stores. Here I got mine at Canadian Tire which would be much like your Auto Zone... If you have any more questions PM me with your phone number and I'll call you (long distance for me is free)... Only 6 volts at turn signals?
Wizard765 replied to CaliforniaRSV's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I had the same problem when I was adding LED signals as well. I couldn't get them to full bright by wiring directly to the harness. I troubleshot that for hours. What I wound up doing was running a power wire from the battery and using relays to turn on the signals. Now I have full bright and works fine. Added bonus I guess is that is isolates the extra lights from the harness. I also did my trailer hookups this way. This whole affair drove me nuts. I wound up chasing every plug I could find on the bike and cleaning the joints then plastering with dilectric grease. None of this solved the problem until I went direct to the battery. Finding back rest
Wizard765 replied to RWITT's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You can still order a drivers backrest from Utopia. They are excellent. A little scary to install because they have the center post so you have to cut a slot in your seat but they come with instructions.. http://www.utpr.com/venture.html Wayne -

I have an iPhone with the TomTom app. It is excellent. Turn by turn directions with street names etc.. Does not use data (which some of the built in apps do). I found an excellent cradle for it and it works perfect. Wayne
