A couple of things I like about the challenger. Visibility from the cockpit is awsome. They can be fitted with wheels, floats or skis. Around this neck of the woods the most popular time to fly is in the winter. Every lake and river is a runway. Lift is excellent. The cabin can be heated. Another ultralight that I like is the Kitfox.

the short answer is yes it will. Looks to be in good shape too.. -
Shaun: I think we need more of an explanation. The 83's didn't have a chin but maybe you are talking about the small piece that joins the two lower fairings together. What color is your bike?

Bulding your own is very satisfying and what you wind up with is unique. I'd say go for it. $250 for total materials cost is VERY cheap... Love to know how you are going to do that. I was pricing parts here to build mine and it was going to cost me about $130 just for an axle and springs. I wound up buying a Harbor Frieght kit and used all the materials to build mine. It was way less expensive but I still had my own trailer when it was done. Got a lot of help from Marcarl when it came time to paint it.

I agree July and August. Southern Ontario can be in the high 80s to mid 90s. If we know when you are coming I'm sure some of us will show you the sites. Personally I really like the Muskokas and a ride from their across the province on 118 is fantastic. Great road and lots of lakes etc.. I know that if I have some notice I would love to take you on a tour.

The duck tape should peel off and Goo-be-gone will take off the left over glue. I have found that a paste type car wax will sometimes do wonders on a windshield. If it is really bad you can get one with a very mild abrasive and buff it out. For the aluminum covers on the engine I removed them and using paint stripper got all the old clear off. Then sanded and buffed until they shone nicely and sprayed new clear coat. Was quite a bit of work but looks good.

I have a friend with an 86 Aspencade and he loves it. Lots of storage space and dependable. Now I feel my 84 is more fun to ride and feels sportier. I know it is faster but I am hurting when it comes to the storage that he has on longer trips (hence the trailer) The leg room or seating position on the Honda is not as comfortable to me. When I get on it I feel like I'm sitting on a box with wheels. The 84 VR feels like I'm "in" it. For that price if it is in good shape you can't go wrong.

Hey Tom: Thanks for having this shindig. It was fun getting together with folks I've met and some that I had not met before. Looking forward to riding season and getting together some more. You and Taters are awesome hosts...

Yes Jack: Bob and I had both apart a few weeks ago. Once you get the backrest and other stuff off the 87 (any MkII) then the holes and everything are exactly the same so the 85 backrest will bolt right on. The only thing different are the external bags. The 85 has 3 bags. 2 on either side of the backrest and one under it. The MkII has one on the right side and has an audio controller on the left side. You could drill holes and regain the one under the backrest if necessary. I am missing the bottom hardware but I believe it will all fit as well and if not it will just mean drilling a hole but it looks like the spaces are already there. In short it looks to be a direct replacement. Wayne

Actually the plastic shell is identical but the hardware is different. I have most of the hardware to switch it. The 85 is removable so has some hardware on the bottom that allows it to attach to the rack but otherwise is the same.

Thanks Brian: I have side bags. In fact I have a spare set of side bags in blonde but I need trunk hardware for the 85 trunk. Thanks Bob: You are AMAZING but maybe someone has a toasted trunk that I can get that hardware from... Just the same thank you.. I'm starting to get excited about having a bigger trunk AND having it match the bike... I get jealous when travelling with Marcarl and his 85. He just keeps stuffing stuff into that trunk when I'm hanging on mine to get it closed...

Hello everyone: I have a project I'm working on. I am trying to put an 87 trunk onto my 84. The color matches and I have almost all the 85 hardware to make it work. The only things I need are the two pieces of steel that hold the trunk to the locks on the rack. If anyone has an 85 trunk that is broken or in bad shape and would be willing to part with some of the hardware I'd be extremely happy.

Dick: It actually is going to depend on whether Dell has XP drivers for that particular notebook. If not then XP will be difficult to get the hardware to work. You could upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate and then run a virtual windows XP. Can you elaborate on the program "disappearing"?

This is only 15 seconds but I can almost guarantee a chuckle.. I laughed out loud. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxJMDzNZWsE]YouTube - why marrying a good speller is important[/ame]

That was funny. Bill Cosby in my opinion has been one of the funniest men alive and almost always clean with family values. An amazing career.

exhaust leak
Wizard765 replied to Dr. Psycho's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
On mine the exhaust pipe stick out enough to hang the ring on it then slide the two flanges together and clamp. I did not have a problem at all getting the copper ring to stay in place. -
You can make the CB fit in the Mk1 fairing top. Marcarl and I have both done it to ours. Move the CLASS to the bottom and put the CB in the middle. The piece you remove to make the CB fit can be cut to fill the small space that is left over. I can post pics later if you wish.

2nd gear trans suggestion
Wizard765 replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If the gears are truly out of a Mark 2 (86 and up) and he says they are then you could drop the set in and all would be good. YES and more cost effective than buying the gears from Mamma Yamma but you would still need to buy the split washers.- 22 replies
