  1. Ben: I can give you an excellent Muskoka run but it is a long day. No major hwys. Wayne
  2. We would be up for a ride on Monday (the holiday). Gonna be away Friday and Saturday then kids are coming for Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. Monday is OPEN... Weather is looking GREAT!! Also be up for a ride on the 15th if the weather holds out that long....
  3. I can't help with the relay but the headlight problem after starting could be the starter button. Easy fix and usually just needs to be taken apart and cleaned well then apply dielectric grease and reassemble.
  4. also if you are using windows you can get a free tweak called image re-sizer powertoy that will re-size your photos. You can choose the size and it makes a copy for you which you can then upload or email etc.. works slick. If you are running XP you can get it here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-xp If you are using Windows 7 it's here http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/releases/view/30247
  5. have a great day brad!!
  6. I believe over here that would be a Voyager Kit... Yes good idea
  7. I was in the same area this weekend. Men's retreat just south of Dorset. Today I ran south on 35 and west on 118. It was AMAZING... didn't have my camera with me though...
  8. Hi there: I have a set of cables for the RSV that I bought by mistake. I have an 84 Venture Royal and these won't work for me. You can have them for cost of shipping.. They came from Pinwall Cycle Wayne
  9. Oh BOY... here we go... Both bikes have basically the same engine BUT the 2nd gens have a gear ratio meant more for hwy riding. When the 1st Gens were built the speed limits were lower and so the ratio gets the rpms up quicker. So in short the 1st gen is a little quicker to get up to speed. Now this is just my opinion and I have no mechanical background... so LET THE GAMES BEGIN :cool10:
  10. Personally I think the dealer should have offered a bike to ride until his is fixed. He spent big bucks on this scooter and only had it a short time. What if his vacation was on this bike? Most HD dealers have a rental fleet. At the very least should have taken him home. I've been hearing good things about customer service at HD dealers around the country. I guess this one didn't get the memo.. As far as the failure goes.. like has been said.. can happen to any brand at any time..
  11. Garmin Zumo 660 Love it. Waterproof, readable in sunlight, motorcycle specific. Like Freebird said the 665 has satelite but the 660 does not. I have no interest in satelite so the 660 works perfect for me. It's like having two units. Comes with cradles for the bike AND for the cage. Is smart enough to know where it is being used and can be set up for either location. Routes can be preplanned and uploaded or shared with other garmin users that have the routes option. Screen is large enough to see easily. Has bluetooth so can be connected to bluetooth devices (headsets, phones etc) Anyhow that is the GPS of choice for me... you will get lots of different ideas on this and your pocketbook can define what choice will make.. Zumos are expensive.
  12. It's king of slide towards the side with the screw and turn out at the same time. There are clips on the opposite side of the screw so you are trying to get it to move enough to get those out.
  13. are you talking about the ones by your knees? Or the intakes at the front? The ones by the knees I just squeeze them a little and they come off. The front ones have a screw that you can get to from the front then they slide to the side and out.
  14. As you know my sister in law died in a crash on Monday. The service will be held today and my brother in law posted this.. yesterday Shirley's service will be tomorrow at 2:00pm Atlantic time(1:00 eastern). I would appreciate anyone, anywhere, with a motorcycle to fire it up at 3:00 Atlantic as there will be a huge motorcycle parade to bring Shirley home and I want to ensure that motorcycle thunder is heard in heaven. Thanks in advance...Fred and Stacey so that would be 4:00 pm eastern etc...
  15. My 84 Blonde has 118,000 Kms (73,321 Miles) and all summer I've been thinking about how GREAT she is running.. Love this bike...
  16. Annie and Allan: Was great meeting you both. I really enjoyed seeing Niagara Falls with you and spending the day together (even if it was in a cage). Hope you can make it back and soon. Wow you put on a lot of miles and covered a lot of states.. Seems to me you have had the trip of a lifetime. AWESOME!! Wayne
  17. I am intending to get out for this one...
  18. Here is the article in the local paper.. http://www.annapoliscountyspectator.ca/News/2011-09-13/article-2746982/Woman-killed-in-motorcycle-crash/1
  19. It was great meeting you two. We hope you had as great at time here as it sounds. Love to see you come back again soon. We will be praying that your case is settled soon. Wayne and Robin
  20. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It's good to not be alone. It turns out that a cage crossed the center line and hit her head on. She was on her way home from work and looking forward to the ride.
  21. a 2nd gen venture is from 99 to present. The starters from one of those fit and are fairly easy to come by.
  22. We just found out that my sister in law died today in a motorcycle crash today. On her way home from work and was hit head on by a cage crossing the center line. She was from Bridgetown Nova Scotia. This is very sad news.
  23. I installed a starter from a 2nd gen and that bolted right up. Solved the problem and now things turn over very well.. Didn't seem to slow the bike any either:cool10:
  24. I use Rotella T dino and it's fairly inexpensive but works fine.
  25. Nice bike.. do you need any more safety chrome?
