Part number for the mounting hardware is STR-4XY35-40-00 I'm thinking we need the size of the bolt and maybe we can find someone with that bolt. Apparently they don't break it down to individual pieces for the mounting hardware.. "Special Bolt" :whistling:really does not tell us much in the instructions.
-
Do you have dimensions handy? What size bolt and how long? Is it visible when installed?
-
I think you may have to call a dealer. Are the passing lights part of the OEM stock bike or are they added on after?

There are two inline fuses behind the front left signal. Take out the signal from the fairing and you should see them. White plastic holders. If that one is gone then the memory won't work BUT you should be able to change while you have the bike on or running and the only problem would be that it won't remember where you were when you turn off the ignition. IF it won't change to any channel then either the Red button is stuck or that circuit is on for some reason.. maybe corrosion..
-
Channel 9 is suppose to be an emergency channel and the red button will take it back to that channel from wherever it is. Also if you have a fuse gone then every time you turn in on it will be on channel 9. If it won't change then my guess is that button is stuck..

Thanks Gary: That is the info I needed. I have not been able to find a nut that thin but was able to find a standard nut the right size and thread. So I have a friend from church that has access to a machine shop where he works. He is going to cut down the standard nut to fit. I talked to the people at Rivco and they had one left on the shelf. $10 plus shipping for a NUT.. Shipping to Canada $$$$$ ? Anyhow looks like it will all go together now.. BTW I paid $1.00 for the nut. Machining = Free..
-
Gary: Yes that looks like what I have and the threaded piece I have but the nut on it I don't have. Some have said that the nut is welded onto that threaded part but mine obviously wasn't. So I need to know what I'm looking for to replace that nut. Looks like half a nut actually. I'm guessing it has to be thin so it won't interfere with the filter.
-
I have the threaded part but there is no nut on it.. It would be more convenient if the nut was on it so that it all stays together on the bike and I would only have to remove the filter.
-
I have a Rivco spin on oil adapter for my Mk1. What I'm missing is the NUT that holds it on the bike. Does anyone know the size or better yet does anyone have one they would be willing to part with? I called Rivco and the whole thing is discontinued and they could not or would not help me at all..

Do you actually have an XP sticker? or just a Key? Do you know which version of XP the key is for? What version of XP is the CD?

Harbor Freight tag along trailer question
Wizard765 replied to midnightrider1300's topic in Trailer Talk
We have a HF frame under ours with 8" tires and the ONLY time we use it is on longer trips if we are going somewhere and overnighting. Anyhow usually on these longer trips Superslab is part of the package and Hwy speeds. Never been an issue at all and I don't even think about it any more.. Just as Squidley said make sure you pack the bearings with good grease.. I'm in the habit (with any trailer) to stop and feel the hubs after a short haul on any trip to see if they are getting warm.. On another note I had a pop up camper for many years and would blow a left tire on every long trip. Was driving me crazy. I had a freind at the time that was a body man and engineer. He checked it and it was way out of square. Turns out the PO had jackknifed it. Anyhow he was able to square it up and never had another problem. -
Make sure the sticker Key is for the right version of XP you are trying to install. If you have a Pro disk and use a Home Key it won't work or vise versa. If you have the right versions.. double tripple and quadruple check what you put in. i have trouble with 8 vs B or Q vs 0 with how small the writing is.. so check them as well. Let me know how you make out.
-
I believe XP is being supported until 2014.. An OEM disk must be installed by booting to the CD and following the instructions. Cannot be installed from within an operating system. You may have to change the boot order in the BIOS to be able to boot to the CD.

I use regular car wax and polish it well..
-
Good you have a visor. I wear glasses as well and without the extra protection of the helmet screen I could not see a thing. I usually wax up the windscreen AND my visor which usually keeps the water beaded up and have no problem seeing. I pulled my trailer a couple of years ago home from the Arkansas International. 2nd day it rained hard all day. Try to stay away from larger vehicles due to the spray. Take your time and leave some space. Are you travelling with anyone else?
