Looking for
Wizard765 replied to Wizard765's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Brian: Yes that one is what I was talking about but looking at your pictures I need those two plus the 5 other ones that look like the trunk sits on them while on the rack. The other longer thinner ones are for when it sits on a floor. Could you give me the dimensions on those other ones. More of how thick they are? Gary: I have a few 84 trunks around and the feet I need are not the same.. Thanks for your generous offer. BTW if YOU need an 84 trunk in good shape let me know.. -
On an 85 trunk there are two rubber feet that fit in two holes in the mounting rack. This is an 85 only item.. Does anyone have a wrecked trunk from and 85 that I could get these "feet" from?

Maybe not the best but definitely the most memorable.. My daughter was away at university at the other side of the country and had been for awhile. She was planning on making it home for Christmas. We got a call to ask if she could bring friends home with her.. usually a full house is lots of fun so this is good.. Anyhow she brought three exchange students home for Christmas. One from Korea, One from France and one from Turkey. It was AWESOME.. Got to take them to Niagara Falls and also took them to Church for Christmas service. Had some other friends over for Christmas dinner as well. The whole visit was a blast and very rewarding to share our time with these girls so far from home. The girl from France was enjoying herself so much she forgot to call home. The girl from Turkey was a Muslim but agreed to attend services with us and the girl from Korea took pictures of EVERYTHING.... We would do it again given the chance..

Hey Brian: My guess is you will be working the booth... God Bless Wayne

The material that you use for molding from Plastex is flexable enough to come off those tabs.. It is not a rigid material.

Venture line backrest, 1987
Wizard765 replied to showmebob's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If you want a nice backrest and cannot find one on eBay.. Utopia still makes one for your Venture.. I have one on my 84 and it is excellent.. In my case better than the VentureLine because of the brackets on the VentureLine bothering my wife's legs. She is vertically challenged and those brackets caused her some discomfort. I had a very nice VentureLine that was a perfect match. I had spent a long time finding and then purchasing it. Was on the bike less than a week. Anyhow the Utopia is an excellent product.. http://www.utpr.com/venture.html -
Hey Bob: Dinner sounds GREAT.. Let's set up a date...

saggin rear end
Wizard765 replied to Wizard765's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Ok I found this.. http://www.powersportsplace.com/parts/pgr-01-1185r/applications Seems to be exactly what I'm looking for.. But I read somewhere and cannot find it again that the "kit" from progressive might come with a tool that would help to install the spring. I know a press will be necessary to do this job.. We changed the rear shock on Brown Angel's ride at the International and while we were at it we took it apart and had the spring out.. As a result I have an idea what it's gonna take.. BTW Thank you PIONEER MOTORSPORTS.. for the use of the tools, lift, shop and press... unbelievable!!! I left a message at Progressive and am awaiting a response as to what is actually in the "kit"- 21 replies

Wizard765 replied to Wizard765's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Mike: Thanks .. That seems to be the one.. I wonder what is in the "kit" besides the spring.. I found the same spring for $79 on another site with that part number...- 21 replies

So when I load up a heavy passenger I can't go into any kind of lean angle without draggin parts on the ground.. Also bottom out on bad bumps.. I set the class to High and still have the problem. So I'm thinking the old springs are getting weak. I have a set of progressives for the front that i'm putting in over the winter. Does anyone know if rear progressive springs are still available and where to get them?

Can I switch cruise?
Wizard765 replied to Wizard765's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I was hoping it would not be a totally difficult job. My cruise works fine but it has no resume. So when I go through a town or for any reason have to disengage then I have to find my comfort zone again and re-engage.. Also I cannot fine tune a desired speed by bumping up or down.. It is either on or off.. I'd like the resume and bump up/down feature in the MKII but not if it's going to mean changing the whole harness..- 11 replies

Gary: Yes I have the gear indicator.. so I guess I have the "better" dash.. Yippee!! So what you are saying is that you have most of what I need... to make the switch.. Wayne- 11 replies

Can I switch cruise?
Wizard765 replied to Wizard765's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Gary: Not sure what you mean by the buttons.. I have the standard dash that came with my Royale. I know the MKII has a light cluster where the key is. Mine doesn't have that but it does have a light for the cruise etc..- 11 replies

I have a MKI with cruise but was wondering if it would be possible to get the cruise from a MKII moved over to the MKI I know I'd need to get the handlebar controls.. And I'm thinking there is a controller of some sort buried somewhere.. It would be nice to have the resume / bump up and bump down features...

I took half a day off on Wednesday and rode from 1:00 till well after dark. It was sunny and warm and we had a GREAT ride. Love being self employed for that reason alone.. flexibility!

I don't get it.. What has owning a Vic got to do with it? Hmmmmm?

It may have just been his way of negotiating... maybe he is looking for another come back. If you want the bike try another offer with just a little more...

If it shows that it is connected then the switch is not turned off. Sometimes Microsoft will put out a new driver for different pieces of hardware and sometimes they do not work as planned. If she recently got updates this COULD be the problem. You can "roll back" the driver if there is a new one. To do this you would go to "device manager" and then "devices" and find the wireless adapter in the list of hardware. Right click on it and go to "properties". Look for the button that says "roll back driver" or some such.. I'm doing this from memory so you may have to look around a little.. I've run across this a number of times..

Am I Going to Fall Over?
Wizard765 replied to alien_bug's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
They take a little getting use to. Heavy bike and maybe even a tad top heavy at parking lot speeds. Once moving though they handle like a dream. Take it to an empty parking lot and practice practice practice. You will be able to do handle bar lock to lock turns with practice. Always look at where you want to go not ahead. -
MKII Hyway Pegs
Wizard765 replied to GolfVenture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yep gotta agree with Ben.. I have those on my MKI and love em. They can be moved around to suit your particular size and shape so that they are super comfy to use. I have mine set so I can put my heal on them or flat of my boot OR go right over the top and rest my ankles on them. I can stretch right out straight if I want and adding a drivers backrest makes it even better.. Like a Lazy Boy on wheels.. -
I belive HF has a LED kit for that trailer. I have a HF trailer with my own box on it and switched it all over to LED. Much better lighting and way less draw on the electical system. Seeing as how you STOLE the trailer you should be able to spring for the LEDs
