  1. Carbon One actually makes braces to beef up the roll bars
  2. Hey Kevin: Hope you have an AMAZING day!!!!
  3. i always wrap the strap around the bottom of the triple tree and then to a ring in front and to the side of the bike.. Then when I'm ready to go I will ratchet the strap till the forks are about half way compressed.. has worked fine for me whenever I've trailered either a 1st or 2nd gen.
  4. Ben: Yup it's time now...
  5. Mike: I'm actually going from an 84 to the 2nd gen so the bags are MUCH bigger.. I do have an 87 I'm rebuilding and was intending to move over to that this summer but I really do like the MM RSV and Abdul made me a good deal.. Thank you ABDUL Wayne
  6. LOL That trip was fantastic and I enjoyed the ride with you and the rest of the guys. The Road Glide was a nice handling bike and looked good as well. I think the 2nd gen is more comfortable and I am totally sold on shaft drive as well as liquid cooling.. not to mention dependability..
  7. So there is a long story but I'm not going into it here yet.. track me down at an M&E and I'll try to explain .. But I've made a deal with Abdul (Chabicheka) for his MM RSV. My 84 will be up for sale in the spring along with an 87 that I'm rebuilding... Looking forward to the extra space. Starting to get somewhat excited BUT also feeling a little like a traitor... Anyhow it's a very nice well maintained bike and when I actually take possession I'll post some pics.. 2nd Gen here I come....
  8. So I've looked and looked and cannot find anywhere that someone has mentioned Which Harley tail lights fit the RSV.. doing a search on eBay for harley tail lights comes up with a few million hits and so far nothing comes close to what you guys have on the back of your scoots.. HELP PLEASE..
  9. Bob: As long as the carb extender fits the RSV then put me down for those and put me down for the lock bezel's as well please.. Wayne
  10. The only way I can think of someone on here having those is if they had them on and triked the bike.. The ones I see on eBay don't seem to have the reflectors unless I'm just missing that..
  11. Yeah but that is pretty much NORMAL for the wet coast except for a couple of weeks in the summer....
  12. freezing rain here this morning
  13. Here is a set new on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Saddlebag-Guard-Rails-for-Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-Tour-Deluxe-/171271089168?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27e08d6c10&vxp=mtr
  14. We spent 2 weeks this past summer on the east coast. Did not make it over to New Foundland but did spent time in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. The Cabot Trail is a MUST. If fact if time permits it would be good to do it twice. Once in each direction. The Hopewell Rocks are worth seeing and we also spent time in the area around Peggy's Cove.. All in all it was a GREAT trip.
  15. Welcome Back Jopi.. Hope to run into you some time soon

  18. I bought a few of these Vessel screw drivers and really like them.. Now my go to when I reach into the tool box.. Love the way they grip the screws and the feel of the handle and the knurled shaft.. They also have a set that fits small cordless impact gun. http://www.rjrcooltools.com/shop_item_detail.cfm?subcat_ID=65
  19. I have watched (helped) Marcarl replace seals many times and just did mine on an 87 last week. We always take the forks out and then after dumping out the spring and spacer etc. Put them in a vice by the bolt holes.. Then using an air impact gun and a broom handle stuck down the fork with a little pressure we remove the Allen bolt from the bottom. Then the dust seal and then a clip. After that a quick yank usually has the whole thing apart. When reassembling we stretch a little electrical tape over the small groove in the upper shaft so that it won't hurt the new seal. This time doing mine we didn't use the air gun on the first one (maybe got lazy) and tried a small battery impact.. didn't work so we had to scrounge around and make a tool to hold piece in the bottom of the fork to get that bolt out. So bottom line is EVERY time we used the air gun it worked without any special tools... other than a broom handle :-) Oh almost forgot. a small length of ABS pipe that just fits over the upper tube is a great SPECIAL tool for seating the new seal..
