  8. Well I live in the same area as you (more or less) and I sold my 84 which was in fantastic shape with a ton of extras that I knew I was not going to get my money out of when I added them. I did it to make it mine.. and was very happy with it.. I'd still have it if I had the room but I got a great deal on a MM (which is my favourite 2nd Gen) and .. well .. down the road she went at $2800. I believe I could have asked for $3500 and probably gotten it if I had more time. Just needed someone to come see her. The first person to come to see her was so excited.. Went to the bank immediately for cash and didn't argue about price.
  9. Was that under MY bike? Was NOT doing that at MY house
  10. Not any stranger than the author of this thread....
  11. To get to the plug I had to take off both side covers and the middle one under the seat. That pic is what the plug looks like but the wires should all be one color. Mine were white. You are in the right area. One side of the plug goes down and into the stator. The other side goes forward to the regulator. So the plug us under the seat towards the back of the bike and also under the battery box. We found that we had to loosen the left side exhaust pipes to be able to comfortably get the stator cover off without damaging the chrome. 1st gen was easier. I used a Rick's Stator and it seems very good. 12. the 3 pin connector from the stator IS under the drivers seat and behind the battery box. It IS buried and a pig to find. First time I did this it took longer to find that plug than to change the stator..
  13. God knows who he is and what he needs.. My wife and I are praying for God to take care of this man..
  14. Brenner: To install the Chin from a MKII you will also need the engine crash bars from a MKII as the MKI bars do not have the mounting brackets. The MKII bars bolt right on without modification. I did that on my 84 and liked the look.
  15. So I am an I.T. on call sort of professional. I know enough about computers to know that there is much more to learn. I do know more than most of my friends and all of my family and the whole profession started as a hobby way back when. Most of my friends started calling me the Wizard because whenever they had a computer problem I'd sit down and fix it "like magic". To add to this my favourite character would be Gandalf of the Lord of the Rings fame.. So looking for a screen name I was going to use Wizard but the name was already taken. Cool thing about that is that the OTHER Wizard has a wife named Robin. Same as me. Anyhow the 765 is the first 3 numbers of my home phone (or was at the time).
  16. From their website.. The entire program will roll out this year and will detail all available options. Keep in mind; your Elio will already be nicely equipped with premium features that are standard. These include A/C, Heat, Power Windows, Power Door Lock, AM/FM Stereo, and more. Personally I am intrigued about this vehicle and as a commuter car/MC it may not be for everyone BUT if they can do what they say and get 84 MPG as well as sell for under $10,000 new with a few creature comforts such as AC I totally believe that when it rolls out the door they won't be able to keep up to the demand.
  17. I got my wife the gerbing jacket liner. Works very well. She wears chaps when it's cold out and the liner. Most of the time all she needs to do is wear the liner and not even turn it on because of the extra insulation. However when the temps drop or if it's windy the liner keeps her toasty. Body heat loss (at least for her) is more noticeable than legs
  18. Yes that works Now as long as the grey hair leaves my brain cells alone so that I remember we are good to go...
