  1. That's a good looking bike Raiki, and you will certainly be able to outrun and outride that Goldwing! That's the reason these bikes were built in the first place! Have fun with your trip, make sure to post your pictures up here so we can see. We love to see the different countries from a riders view. Like your house, too! Dan
  2. That's why we're here!
  3. He IS working!
  4. Color of the bike and those shoulders of the driver sure look familiar!
  5. Glad to hear your friends are OK, made sure when I was on the road this weekend that helmet and leather was on. Happy to hear everyone else made it OK. Prayers for quick healing on the way. Dan
  6. Most of the time hot running while moving is a carb synch issue, and if you're at a light the lack of airflow thru the radiator will cause temps to go up. Did the fan kick on when you were at the light? ( Should come on as the needle moves into the red) Did you change and top of the coolant after the thermostat change? Did you reset the drain valve to the off position? (Black knob under the radiator, the off position is 2:00 as you're looking at it.) Check your plugs to see if you are running rich (black deposits) or lean (white tips). This will give us an indication of how your motor is running. Clean and re-tighten the connectors under the bottom of the right fairing where the temp sensor is located, there is a separate ground that hooks up there. One of the round connectors could be loose, causing the fan to not come on or the gauge to work improperly. Let us know if this helps. Dan
  7. If not, go here to download MS picture resizer http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe
  8. Wanted to leave for camping in NE Ohio on Friday, son now has a game on Friday night and a 4 team tournament on Saturday so we probably won't make it over there till Saturday nite. Oh well, 2 days is better than none!
  9. Good luck Randy. Glad to "see" you've "scraped" by the last couple of months. Can't believe that stuff grows that quick! Take it easy for the next couple of days, no wheelies on the bike! Dan

Bring your tire, there will be a changing station, carb-tune and synch station set-up also. Bring your shorts for your chance at catching the pond monster, and you better bring Stardbog some Heinys! (if you wanna get in good with him, that is!) Show up anytime Saturday morning, we'll be there all day. Maybe even take an evening cruise! Be glad to have you along! Dan
  11. Same thing here, just pulled the wires back up into the false tank cover area and plugged 'em right into the relay. Dan
  12. Thanks Brian, I'll PM him and see if I get some action. Gotta try to get the hitch done by Friday night, going camping this weekend, wanna try and pull the trailer to get used to it. Hey Squidley, them Metz's have been on there about 2 years, got almost 8,000 miles on 'em. But I can guarentee they won't be replaced by Metzlers, probably go with Venoms. Can't afford to change right now. The front's excellent condition, the rear is showing wear down the middle. Keep the air up, don't try to do anymore dirt track riding! I thought you knew I had them on there.
  13. Went to Meijers last night and picked up some toilet bowl rubber washers, works like a charm! Picked up a couple of rubber door stoppers to install on the footboard rest to raise it a little and keep it from making any noise..... OK, let the 2nd genners begin...............................
  14. So---- we're finally getting acknowledgement that 2nd gen riders really DO have a screw or two loose!!!:rotfl::rotfl:
  15. Had to take the camera into the wifes computer to download, then email to me then come out and upload. Other pics are new bling for the bike.
  16. How did that intake boot get torn like that, George? Did it just peel away? Dan
  17. OK, thought I was losing my mind (even more than usual!). They just seem really loose like they need something to tighten them up. Tell Jeff I said thanks again! Earl, I got them chromed at a place down in Cincinnati. Cost about a hunderd bucks, then I taped the "rim" up and sprayed about 6 coats of bedliner on the foot area for some grippage. Send me some pics and I'll compare to yours. As soon as I can get this camera to upload again, I'll post some pics. Figure I better get them on there before MD! Oh yeah, picked up a Menards/Sears clamshell trailer from a local guy this week cheap, so now I gotta get that hitch built! I figure even tho I have the rear chrome bumper setup on there now, it shouldn't be too hard. Dan
  18. Need some pics of an installed passenger footrest on a 1st gen. Preferably in the raised position. They took mine apart for chroming and I don't think I got all the parts back. I believe there must be a spring or something in there to keep it from flopping around. If someone could help me out, my Navigator would appreciate it! Dan
  19. To quote Squidley: VR.org-- an eating club with a riding disorder! Proud sponsors of Dairy Queen!
  20. Ranking 12782 2214 count
  21. That's a factory installed brace, goes under the frame for extra support. Dan
  22. Part # for K&N filters http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RU-2989
  23. Thanks for the pics Don. Interesting to note about leaving it active all the time. I had been thinking about how to control it. Neat setup on the PCV system. Makes it easier to set mine up. Other things I noticed are no carb drain tubes and the open tubes on top of the carbs. Is this a trait on the later carbs?
  24. Sounds like Carl is bringing his 2nd gen tool set. At least it's easy to pack! lol
