  1. Glad to see you made it home Brad, we got home around 10 ourselves. It was really great to ride with you guys. SOOOOOOO much fun, I finally got the play toy I wanted when I was a kid!
  2. Got home at 10 tonite, 520 miles, 4 stops (one for dinner), avg 35 mpg pulling a loaded trailer (wasn't taking it easy, either). We had the greatest time this week, will post some pics later. I believe I miss those roads already!
  3. Glad to hear that Margaret, got a taste of the heat down here, about 95 or so, but not as bad as his! Just let him know that we are trying our best to lay down some floorboards and pegs in the curves for him! AND the Red is running great! Any word on his "hump-tune" procedure yet?!!! Make sure he knows we said HI from down here at the Hub! Dan
  4. We're at the Extended Stay in St. Peters, call me on my cell when you get in, 317-370-0139 and we'll get together. Dan

  6. Guess I'll just have to ride down to Texas and pick them Macs up, huh! Darn the luck!
  7. Welcome to the state again Boss, glad you're enjoying the ride. After all, that's what it's all about! Dan
  8. You guys need to meet us here in Indy, might as well all ride over together. You're about an hour from my house, leave Anderson by 10:30 or so, and meet down here. Bongobob will be in between11:30 and 1:30. just come straight down St. Rd. 9 to I74 and come west to Exit 101, I'm a mile and a quarter south of there. Call me at 317-835-1504 if you want. Dan
  9. I know Larry (Carbon One) is already there, wish I was, wouldn't have to go thru the rain tomorrow...........
  10. I'll be glad to keep all that 1st gen stuff you got up there Brad.........
  11. I am headed down right now to pick one of those up, will let you know how it works out! Should be able to install it this PM for the trip! Now youse guys won't be able to talk about me in MI this year! I think I can hook it into stereo, Jeff sent me some schematics earlier this year on how to do it. They also have a nice remote mount unit, but its internet only.
  12. Hey Brad, you get that bike out on the road yet? I might be willing to let go of my CB if you want it. Not sure I want to mount that one on the bike and lose my right fairing pocket........ Might go aftermarket.
  13. Waiting for Bongobob to show up tomorrow, looks like some rain 'tween here and St. Luwey tomorrow afternoon,,,,,,,,
  14. Hey Don, you could just bring mine to the rally if you want. Save you some postage.
  15. Thats what I was trying to figure out! Which knee was it Carl?
  16. Aftermarket hookup for heated clothing? The condenser is mounted inside the frame behind the rear exhaust pipes. Dan
  17. Morning Brian, What I found with my mis-fire which was a PITA to find, and I didn't find it till I moved my TCI, was that a connection on the 8 wire plug going out to the coils was not making constant contact, therefore leading to a mis-fire condition. Use some contact cleaner on the connections, along with one of those brass cleaning brushes (small) that you can find at any parts store to clean the terminals on the TCI. Check the 1st gen tech section for the pin-out diagram and diagnostic sheet to help you check the connections, coils, pickup coils and connectors. THis can all be done while the bikes running now since all the major wiring comes thru the TCI and now its accessible to work on. It's also possible a coil is breaking down after it gets hot from running for a while, but it's usually not an intermittent condition. TCI doesn't need to be in an airstream, its actually better being up where it'll stay dry.You still need to open it up and dry it out and check the connections, but it'll be easier now. Good luck, Dan PS We STILL cannot figure out what their engineers were thinking on some of this stuff!
  18. Definately a keeper! Hey Ruffy, whens the last time you got that wheel-chair of a bike out of the garage and did more than just look at it?!!!!! :rotfl:
  19. Butler mod will last a lot longer!
  20. Cindy, don't know if we said we'd do BBQ, but count us in! Probably just do breakfast and dinners there too, unless another path arises that sounds more interesting. (Pizza Hut in Oberlin on a Saturday nite?!) Dan
  21. Time to get down to the TCI (ignition module) under the battery box. Remove the air box and battery box. Take a #3 phillips bit in a 1/4" socket and ratchet, screws are yupside down, 1 on either side. Once you get it loose, bring the wiring connectors up top and reinstall the battery and air box. Now plug your TCI back in. Easier to diagnose this way. Do you know which 2 cylinders aren't firing? If its side to side, possible oickup coil. If its front to back or diagonal, possible TCI problem. Anyway, with a digital meter set for DC, you can diagnose all this from the TCI connectors. Look in 1st gen tech section for the pin-outs for the TCI and diagnostic diagram. Good luck, sounds like a keeper either way! Dan
  22. Yea rah! Time can't pass fast enuff!
  23. Glad you can make it Bob, Hub should have some rooms, if nothing else we have a room with 2 double beds we could share. Dan
  24. Would a good RTV or Yamabond type sealer work on sealing up the manifold-to-head connection? Make SURE the long screws go in the upper holes! They will leak if you don't! Good luck, and we don't need an HD at the rally! Unless you have to, of course. Dan
