I just sent it out to about thirty people! PS Richard, I enjoyed the conversation last week, a very lively and spirited discussion between people of a diverse family!
-
Glad to see you and Eileen safe and sound in the area, Don. Rose and I will have to live vicariously through you guys as she's already back to work at school and I'm getting ready to head out for the day. Have fun riding around the area and you guys have a great time Dan for us!

Just read this, as others was hoping for recuperation. Rose and I offer our condolences and prayers to Alice and the family on this sad day.

You mean LONNA won a laptop and lets you use it!!!!!!

That's the one nice thing about having the Nav along to take pics, you can get them going down the road. Gonna try to do a video next year, some of these roads are simply AMAZING! Pics DO NOT do them justice!

Supposedly a first gen should pull 12.05 @115 mph at a quarter mile according to tests done back in the day......
-
Are you sure you weren't riding your 1st gen?!! R/T for first run is not bad, would have liked to see numbers for the 4th run. For those that don't know, here in the states a reaction time (last yellow to green light take off) of 4/100ths of a second (.040) is considered perfect, hard to achieve. Me thinks more practice is in order, along with a clean track........... Glad you had fun, though, thats the idea in the first place. We can run over here in Indy at O'Reilly Raceway Park where the NHRA Nationals are held every Tuesday nite for about 20 bucks. Son already wants to know when we're going out.......

Bummer and Irene wear a kevlar mesh riding shirt, kinda mustard in color, not sure who makes it.

Glad you guys made it home safe, we ended up not being able to do that, had to come home or we'd been with you. Good to meet you and your daughter, glad you had a good time.

MkII rear suspension rods
Dano replied to frankd's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The MKII's have flat spots on the links which are ideal spots to drill, tap and install zerk fittings to service in the future. Your bushings may be shot now that the bolts are seized to them, they are a fabric/hard cover type deal. Pull them out and clean them up good, along with liberal lubrication when reinstalling them should help in the future. Good luck, Dan -
Whats he deducting for the scratched up footboards, Bill? Think you'll be able to keep up with Swifty if you get it? LOL

Same wishes from here, don't know where we would be without this family. After spending a week with these people (some we met for the first time), all I can say is thanks to Don and I truly wish we could have done the Vogel trip also, I was NOT ready to come home. (Wonder if MamaRose would notice if I took off on tuesday and didn't come home till Sunday???!!!!) PS We did not get to go over there on the ride home, matters dictated we get back here last night. OH well, we'll get there sometime!

updated Regulator/Rectifier Group Buy
Dano replied to Squeeze's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You should be able to take the connectors into ANY "real" electronics "supplier" and match up the terminals needed. I think for this price, including the connector body and possibly the closure is one heck of a deal! Matter of fact, change minr to make it 2 and I only need one set of the connector bodies. Only got 1 bike right now! -
Yea, sure, he'll have an Apache jet engine adapted to that thing by next week. I can't see that belly going anywhere! Glad he's finally getting settled in.
-
Glad to see you made it home Brad, we got home around 10 ourselves. It was really great to ride with you guys. SOOOOOOO much fun, I finally got the play toy I wanted when I was a kid!
-
Got home at 10 tonite, 520 miles, 4 stops (one for dinner), avg 35 mpg pulling a loaded trailer (wasn't taking it easy, either). We had the greatest time this week, will post some pics later. I believe I miss those roads already!

Glad to hear that Margaret, got a taste of the heat down here, about 95 or so, but not as bad as his! Just let him know that we are trying our best to lay down some floorboards and pegs in the curves for him! AND the Red is running great! Any word on his "hump-tune" procedure yet?!!! Make sure he knows we said HI from down here at the Hub! Dan
