THAT is the sign of a true optimist! The erratic idle could be traced to a vacuum leak(spray some starter fluid around all the carb boot joints, also where the boots contact the head and also around the vacuum caps) or the throttle cable(s) being too tight. The overheating is usually caused by the erratic operation of the motor, should straighten out once you get it running smooth. Might as well go ahead and get the forks rebuilt and drop some Progressive springs in there. One time fix and forget about air pressure in the front. As said before, check the connections on the TCI and clean the h**l out of them. Good luck and keep us updated, we're waitin' for ya to join us on a ride! Dan

Too much fun to be had here. Hard to let it be!

Who's the one riding in on the shiny white steel horse? Muff's already entrusted her to your care! Better not let him down or he'll send some of his new Canadian buddies over to shave your head! She SAYS you're good. You better be! Don't make me come down there next week and show you up! Honestly, hope it's an easy fix and you can get in and out. Dan BTW, I remember the LAST time you and Jeff went out to do some electrical work!

Welcome Sleepcheater. Another rule in slow riding is NEVER use the front brake alone. If you are turning and hit the front brake, you will go down. These bikes have a linked rear/front left brake system, operated by the foot pedal. The safest to use in slow riding. After practice, I can turn my bike around in a 180d turn in as little as 12-15 feet. Another thing, slightly previously mentioned----- THESE BIKES ARE FAST! A little un-judicious use of the right hand on the throttle will start you thinking you're a little younger than you are! And leads to periods of euphoria, etc. Just remember that you are who you are and not any younger! How is the maintenance on your bike? Plenty of guys up there to help you out! Dan

Try this link http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27575&highlight=starter+ground and this [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showpost.php?p=245886&postcount=4]VentureRider.Org - View Single Post - NAPA Thermostat, Starter refurb[/ame] I believe the second one will lead you to where you want to go. What you're looking for is an INTERNAL starter ground. Click on the link on this page to take you to a VMax page. When on this page, look down the left side banner to Starter Problems. Remember, this guy is Dutch, so put your thinking cap on! Good luck BTW search parameters were "1st gen starter ground", the actual post was towards the bottom "Starter drag even after battery cable upgrade"

Thought about turning on the space heater out here in the office. Our propane budget dropped from $165 p/ month last year to $55 p/ month this year. Wonder what gives with that??? Not that I'm b****ng about it, but why so high last year?

I hear Dons got a good guard dog who could help! Hope everything goes good for you and this one lasts a little longer, be good to see you out and about next year!

Do we need to set up another time slot for you here at the garage, Goofey?!

We just did that a couple of weeks ago.

Cool. If somebody wants the single, I'll wait till you get to do them again to get mine. Dan

So glad to hear everything turned out for the good, Gary. My family lives in Col's and had heard about your accident and wondered if I knew who it was. At least your mind is clear now about your health (that's why they call it "practice" medicine!) and you can move on to other things. We hope to see you back out here on the road again sometime. Remember----- "You can check out anytime you want, but you can never leave", you're here forever with us now. Dan

If you're going to make some more, I'd be interested in 2 car frames. PM me and let me know. Dan

Our condolences to the families from here also. So sad to hear of such a tragedy amongst a group like that. May the Almighty watch out over their families in this time of sorrow. Dan

Beautiful pics, Randy. I'm extremely jealous. Got to look at freeway and city streets for my ride. Did manage to take a nice little twisty side road on the way back. Just enough to wet the appetite a little, gonna have to quench that thirst real soon.

That's what the graphs and members who have already installed one have to say. That's why I'm putting one in. You will see the most gain if you also install the higher output stator from Rick at Buckeye Performance.

Sounds like you were really broken up by Carl not putting you up for the night!

So Blondie is done? Or are YOU done with Blondie? Might be looking for a set of MKII grab bars, working on a little something here. Dano
