    Here it is

OK, here's the pics. She looks pretty good for a standard, does have cruise but not much else. The Yamaha foot pegs will go with what ever bike I keep. Sits good, nice backrest. Got a lot of work to do. The PO bought it in '01, last plated in '03 with only 1300 miles put on it in that time and since (36,031 miles on her now!). Poor thing has been sitting outside most of this time, but thankfully the paints not faded. Throttle cables frozen, tires flat-spotted (but will be putting new ones on anyway). Needs fork work done, haven't checked rear shock yet. Basically a tear-down like I did mine a couple of years ago and then see which one we wanna keep. (I know, why not both?!) PO didn't know where the lower fairing legs were, didn't know they were supposed to have them!
  2. Yup, just gave "Curlie" someone to keep her company this winter. Pics coming on a new thread. Whats wrong with the bike? PM me and let me know. Be glad to straighten it out this winter for ya. Sometimes it's better to fix whats wrong with what you have instead of starting over again. Dan
  3. Good luck Karl, we're all praying for you to have a successful surgery and a good rehab. Let us know as soon as you can (even if you call someone, myself included) to let us know how it went. Dan
  4. Yup, I have spy-sweeper, AVG and use window-washer if I suspect any hidden downloads. I also use Malwarebytes to scan and get rid of the crap, along with hijack-this and combo-fix. Does a 'puter a world of good. Glad you got rid of it, but it sure is a lot of wasted time to do it!
  5. My seat should change over, right?
  6. If the oil jug says "energy-conserving",that alone will make your clutches slip. If it continues, you could double up the clutch springs, do a mod that involves removing the half-ring in the back of the stack and replace it with a full one, all kinds of different things to do. Just do a search on "slipping clutch" here on the forum and see what pops up. Dano
  7. Nope, not a Royale, but it does have cruise (Thank you Lord!). She's not sure about the backrest, I've asked her before. Will do the Butler upgrade on the backrest and see what she says. Paints great but chrome needs some polishing of course. Living on the edge? What other way is there?!!
  8. Yeah Tom, you beat me to it! That 83 just ended at $1800, but the 87 2 tone blue I'm gonna pick up Sunday (wife ain't got no choice but to go along there Squidley!) is coming home with me for 800 cash & carry out the door. Pics will come, but it needs some work. Been sitting outside for a couple of years, needs tires and carb work, standard stuff. Don't know if it's a keeper or turn over. I DEFINITELY WILL NOT be parting this bike out, that's why I'm buying it to keep the owner from doing that. I feel I'm getting a pretty good deal, only 37k on it, he paid a lot more for it when he got it. I'd like to have given less, but I felt it was worth it. Whadya youse guys think?
  9. Now you're thinking..... but how would you split the cases? BTW, why you up so early or so late?!!!!!!
  10. Thought it looked familiar!
  11. $2 of course!!!!!!!!
  12. I found on my Saddleman Travelcade that it never did "break-in". I sent it down to Rick Butler and had him work his "magic" on the seat and now both the wife and myself are totally comfortable on long trips. JMHO Dano
  13. I've got a stand-alone unit in my bike, just tied it into the right dash speaker cause my right channel was out on the radio. I'll tell you right now, unless you're going slow, you won't be able to understand anything coming out of there. Get a headset to put on that and you might be alright. I'm going with the J&M setup with the "communicator" box so I can bluetooth my phone into it along with the helmet sets. Tired of screwing with the factory stuff, even though I've got the factory CB, radio, amp and cordset already(also for sale!).
  14. I wouldn't mount it up to one side, I don't think the mount tabs would hold the weight. I've got 2 of them in the garage right now, (both of 'em got motors on them right now!). I'll measure the distance of the motor mounts on the V4 and how wide the mounts for the stand will go and see if they can match up, but you would need some stout rod or something to go across the motor. Problem is, the motor would have to be sideways mounted. I was thinking the same thing when I had mine out last year. Theres gotta be a way.
  15. Glad to see you made it there and back Chuck, and safely at that. There's nothing like having the wind in your face on a solo ride, especially a long one, where the mind gets clear and you're at one with your ride. Your steed will always take care of you as long as you take care of her, and you've done that, as far as I can see. Congrats on making the ride and we'll see you sometime soon. Dano
  16. If you REALLY want to get them, ask if there's a discount for exact change............ That's all I'm sayin'............
  17. Dang, you beat me to it!
  18. They're gonna need that shovel for all the s**t they're starting to dish out down there......... It'll be 65 w/ glorious sunshine and beautiful TREES and LEAVES, Hills and twisties to admire up here today. Ya'all have fun lookin' at all that FLATland and scrub trees you have down there!
  19. I'll hit 105-110 in third on a rolling start once or twice a month just to clean out the carbs and exhaust and my mind.........
  20. ya, ya, rub it in why dontcha!
  21. Hey Skid, get some new glasses!
  22. Yep, just show up, we'll all be here!!!!!
  23. Love that color of purple in there, you guys keeping it for the master bedroom??!!!
  24. I got some weak flu starting Monday, could feel it in my throat and that metallic taste when I swallowed. Started hackin' up green/yeller, called the Doc on Thursday, got me right in and gave me a Z-Pac (3 day super-antibiotic). Felt better Friday (even tho I complained about feeling bad and got a 2 hour nap in!) and feel great today. Nipped 'er in the bud by gettin to the docs early enuff. Might try some of SilvrTs and MiCarls meds tonite! Whats that hangover cure?
  25. The vboost system adds about an inch to the overall heigth of the system. You would need to cut about an inch out of the airbox to get it to fit. I have just the runners that I'm contemplating putting on the 84 with a manual control. Hers a couple of bench pics......
