  1. Hey Earl, if I'm rebuilding a set that has sat for 6 yrs, should I go ahead and replace them also?
  2. Got a few in the driveway, pretty diverse crowd: 02 Chevy express one ton extended van (maybe too big for Eileen!) 01 Durango SLT 5.9L AWD w/ leather heated seats and premium package (will NOT get stuck in snow, excellent ice handler w/ Wrangler SRA tires) 97 Chry Sebring Convertible (reliable transportation) 79 Camaro (w/ built 350, headers and exhaust) (probably a good idea for you but not her!) Dan
  3. Be sure and give me a shout if you're coming this way----SOP. If not, arrive alive and good luck on the interview, I hope you get the job so's you can get outta Lonnas hair! Oh, by the way Ruffy, THIS is an arse!
  4. Gotta love living in the country on a well with a back-up generator!
  5. That's because we LIKE to tear them down and rebuild them, it's part of the fun of owning one of these bikes!
  6. Sorry to hear of your loss Tom and Taters, I know how you feel. We have yet to get another dog, just haven't found the right one yet.

    Why?

Why? Why you ask? Because it now has 505 posts, lasted longer than the TP thread, and is in the running for longest thread ever! Dano- WHO says the Energizer Bunny would have difficulties keeping up with this thread!
  8. At least she can get that bike all nice and shiny now!
  9. You haven't seen Milka Dunno drive then, have you?!

    computer help

Hey Bummer, I still gots a laptop from 92 or 93 Pentium II that runs my PLC programming. Cotton pickin' thing just keeps runnin and runnin, don't need to get a new one for what I do with it. BTW, also got a complete Commodore 64 up in the attic for when they fry the grid and all these fancy computers bite the dust! Ancient, heck, I ride one!
  11. Or just buy a Saddlemans Travelcade seat with the built in backrest and don't order the gel pad, then send it down to Rick Butler and let him work his magic. Did over 500 miles in one sitting coming back from Arkansas last year and it felt great! Dan
  12. Good job Margaret, we're all SO proud of you! However, being in an outlet with nothing else plugged in doesn't mean much unless it's on a dedicated circuit. Occasionally I would check where it's plugged in and make sure it's not getting hot. If you feel some warmth at the plug, that means it's gonna get hot and hurt something. If the unit has two heat levels, try using the lower level and recheck the plug after awhile. You may also want to feel your circuit breakers to make sure one of them is not getting hot. Do these checks cause we wanna keep our Mini around for a long time!
  13. Try to find an outlet thats not on a loaded up circuit, or Stud Muffin'll have to come over and rescue you again! It's probably a 1500 watt heater in there which will pull about 12.5 amps, that's a pretty good load for a circuit. Also, DO NOT use an extension cord, it will heat up and melt! I like the idea of a nice hot drink with additives and just watch yur pretty little logs for tonite and worry about the rest of it tomorrow! Good luck Dan

    Where ?

"Where"--- the question usually asked "when" you look for "something" the other half has asked you to get for "them". "It" is usually not "where" that person has told you "it" would be, neccessitating asking the question ---get ready---- ---you know "it"'s coming---- WHY do you need "it" in the first place!!!
  15. Just give it up and go ice-fishing Charlie, August will be here before you know and you'll be thawed out by then!

    ATV 4x4

I've got an 02 Yamaha Big Bear 400 quad 4x4, put a plow on it (and winch) a couple of years ago for the boy to make some money with. Not the biggest bear in the woods, but it does ok. You want to make sure you ask for or get a utility quad and not a sport quad.
  17. Definately on the list: MD, Int'l Rally and we would really like to come down to Asheville this year, haven't been on the bike in the SE yet, got cut out of that coming home from the Int'l rally last year. Other than that, we'll probably have our Brown County run and some other local runs.
  18. Thoughts and prayers out from here also.
  19. I guess since you missed them the last time they were just giving you another chance. Maybe no brakes is the way to go! Hopefully your troubles with deer are over, at least Ramona left your fingers intact!

    Lost a Pet

Sorry to hear that Brad, know how you feel. Laid my 17 yr old shepard down last year.
  21. You looking for this?!
  22. It's not too hard to do, but you'll have to pull the swingarm off and you'll need a couple of bigger sockets and allen wrenches to do it. Also a good time to grease up those driveshaft splines! Plan on spending a day or two to do it if you've got no experience in it. Most of the time will be spent removing and reinstalling the bags and hardware(for MKII's). Just make sure you have a printed service manual and that the shims go back in correctly under output shaft plate it can all be done with the bike on the center stand. Pay close attention to the torque rating for the swingarm bolts, as too loose will give you a "squirrelly" feeling that you'll swear is coming from the front end! Also a good time to install zerk fittings into the swingarm shock links and at least grease them up too. Gotta quit, I could come up with a HUGE list of mods for you to do while you're in there!
  23. It all started when Squidley moved down "there"! We've only got a dusting, roads are clear, but it's COLD!
  24. Looks like that shirt will go well with those pink chaps!
  25. Buy me something Jeff, promise* I'll repay ya! One of these days!
