    Why?

Figured I'd just make it 675 posts where someone said why?
  3. Snaggletooths rotor is done and on the way back to him, here are a few shots for those interested. You can see the plug used to center everything to the crankshaft in a couple of pics, this is one mod you'll never have to do again!
  4. use the progressive pump, doesn't take a lot of pumps to build it up. The groaning you're hearing is probably the lower shock link bushings, they get dryed out and need regreased. I installed zerk fittings on mine to ease the situation in the future.
  5. Kobalt tools at lowes carries a thin-wall 18mm 3/8ths drive socket, that and a 3" extension and u-joint will get those plugs out.......
  6. Nice pics Bob, shame ya had to come back to this weather. I'm kinda jealous!

    Why?

Because with the sunshine we have out today, we will have another 5" of SNOW coming in tonite after 7, THATS WHY!!!!!!!!!!
  8. The washer is between the old starter clutch and the rotor, if you've separated those two. Gaskets and washer, done.
  9. Wow, an exact duplicate reply to one posted 2 1/2 hours ago. The magic of the internet!
  10. Sounds good Jeff, I warned you about having a soft place to land! I will be doing Snaggles mod this afternoon, shipping out Tuesday. As Squeeze has said, this is more about a final solution (same as the second gear fix) to a problem than an income producing move, I can make more by going out and doing an electrical job than I can doing this, if you add up the amount of hours and time involved. This is the same approach I use in working on someone elses bike. I helped out Big Dude in getting his middle gear drivetrain problem fixed, which included more than a few weekends out at his place, along with tearing out the motor and splitting the cases to effect the repair for a very modest sum. I would do this for anyone here, its more about the bikes than income producing. If I wanted that I would open up a repair shop and do it full time. Look forward to receiving your rotor Jeff, make sure you send that washer along with the rotor. Should fit into a medium flat rate USPS box for shipping. Let me know if you want the gaskets too. Dan
  11. Then stop reading this post. I don't watch CNN because I don't want to hear their views.
  12. No, it is not the factories, etc, it is an El Nino which is situated off the Mexican peninsula in the Pacific, a natural phenomenom which occurs from time to time. You would know this if you did a little weather related research before posting your knowledge from CNN. Did you also know that termites release more methane (collectively) than cows and all the man-made pollution creating machinery put together? At least our comments about Al Gore and his buddies are meant to be light-hearted and somewhat comical.
  13. But can you mount it on a Venture???!!!!!!
  14. That would have saved me a TON of money on the boys Camaro!
  15. Get a set of Mac mufflers for that puppy, you'll like the sound. Others like the Jardines, you may be able to find a decent set on flea-bay from time to time, or a member might come up with a new set on here every once in awhile... You're REALLY gonna have some fun with that bike now!

    darn weather

Supposedly an "El Nino" is causing the storm kick-up, also driving it further south than normal patterns. We got enuff around here to last for awhile, I don't mind snow at least once in the winter, otherwise I would hate the cold! Of course I'm saying this while I'm no longer employed in a constant outdoor job situation (sign company the last 8yrs) and have control over when I do!
  17. I know it's gonna be tough Karl, but when you get through this you'll feel so much better it'll all be worth it! Hang in there buddy, the days will start to fly by! BTW, what did he say about riding?!
  18. Only if he can get back up from that position!

    Grand Slam

I didn't get to go, but my son and a few of his buddies stood in line for an hour or so, didn't get seated till 3:30 or so but they still honored the deal. Bet them chickens are tired!
  20. Me thinks Gary has found a good cook too, not just a new set of tires......
  21. We are sorry to hear of your loss, I lost my older brother to cancer just a couple of months ago, know how you feel.
  22. And I'll keep my pic files to myself..........
  23. We ended up with about 6-7"s, enuff to make it look pretty for awhile.
  24. We WOULD have done it after the IR last year if it wasn't for my son.......... This year tho, we will change that!
  25. That sure is a purty purple to be hidden in there, Jack!
