  1. Here's a couple of pics from the front of my 87 showing the windscreen support brackets installed
  2. TELL ME you washed up that fender top and the rest of the bike! WHAT A TRAGEDY!!!!!!
  3. You can show up around 9 on Saturday morning, I'm sure the lines will be forming by then! Be glad to see you, a couple more months isn't gonna kill you on the sync, unless you talk Don into doing it before then!
  4. That is the middle gear cover you took off, the lowest bolt with the little "washer" on it is an oil drain for that area as it will not drain directly back to the oil pan. You must have that crush washer on the lowest bolt to keep it from leaking. But of course you already know that now!

    Hey Big Tom

Heck, they had those nasty things at the buffet I went to last night! I left them sittin' there for you Tom!
  7. I'll be there Bob, sounds like you started it, you finish it! Hey Starman, is that you I passed out in Hancock Cty maybe on 200 west the other day? I was on my 84 red heading south and you were heading north. It was later on in the afternoon.
  8. Plugs are cheap enough to replace every year, I'd go ahead and do that first, then move south where it's a lot warmer!
  9. It can be taken apart to fit in a smaller box, those side wings come off of the rear bumper pretty easy.
  10. I'd pull the seat and make sure you had it hooked up right first...........
  11. Prayers going out for all involved, hope the surgery goes well.
  12. Yep, think my mind is made up now, why take a chance on p*****g off the wife?
  13. Looks like you need some new cam cover gaskets and those bolt rubbers too. They just get hard with age and need replaced. I would also check where the wires come out of the stator cover (big cover on left side), they are notorious for leaking there also.
  14. Are you having to change out the shift drum and forks too?
  15. We're still there for now, haven't talked to the wif yet, she's on vacation. She really likes those rooms, tho. How's Comfort Inn compared to Oberlin? We might be changin' things around here next week.
  16. Hmmmm, gotta work on that 2nd gen already, Eh Charlie? Check all the plugs you can get to, if it was a 1st gen it'd be easy to do! Good luck, you might be ready to ride when it finally gets warm enough to ride up there!
  17. Not called a "freeze plug", but rather the drain for the heads if you ever have to take one off.
  18. :sign yeah that:
  19. We had beautiful weather here yesterday, overcast and about 45-50 today but I still found an excuse to take the bike out for a spin. Or two. Or three! Rain just started about an hour ago. Tuesday and Wednesday are also supposed to be gorgeous, but I gotta work, Such the luck......

  21. You need to check out the "WHY" thread for an answer to that question........
  22. Send me a PM with your addy, 2 will go out on Monday to you. Dan
  23. Where's the training wheels at? He hasn't swapped out that little twin for a 'copter jet engine yet? I'm shocked!
  24. That's what it sounds like, a valve thats stuck partially open. If you have access to the parts, get an adapter that will allow you to pressurize the cylinder, then listen at the exhaust and air filters for any air escaping out. Quick and easy check.
  25. Another satisfied customer of VR.org...........
