  1. I didn't remember if a new date had been set for a M&E yet...... kinda miss the old coot
  2. That's it Owl, just keep the Squid in suspense........ I might just call Kevin and have him hold off for awhile :rotfl:
  3. Same here!
  4. Hey Mini, remind me of when the party over at Asheville is. If it's Labor Day weekend, we can swing a party on Sunday, giving us 2 days of travel...........
  5. Wasn't me either, but the winner did share my first name!
  6. If you were there, and knew who was asking the question, then the answer is readily apparent. We made it home about 5, staying just in front of the storms. Great time, great people, good stories all around and some decent rides for the area. Great job done by Kevin, Sue, Darrin and Debbie.
  7. They're out in Iowa somewhere.
  8. OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!! That 1800 Tequila must have got to you Bob!!!!
  9. I will have to go downstairs and check with Carl then and see his reasoning!!!! It would've been great to see you down here again, once again great people and great times!
  10. Black Owl, both Marcarl and myself feel that this guy should be gone from the site after this series of posting. Being a new trial member does NOT allow someone to come on here and write comments like that. Thanks, Dano & Marcarl
  11. SSSSOOOOOOO, does that mean you're on your way to Potato Creek?
  12. Thats a great idea Randy! Might move mine up there and out of the wind, so to speak.
  13. I've got a small CB installed in my left vent, would like to see a pic of your install Randy, sounds like a good idea!
  14. I don't think I'd let a vent keep me from taking it out for a ride tho! Let us know how she runs, paints looking great, real good job.
  15. THAT would still be reserved for you Margaret, NO WAY I'd ever touch the MINI moniker!!!!!!
  16. Probably burnt the wire in two where it hit the exhaust, you'll have to remove that and solder in a new piece.
  17. Count me in Margaret. Heck, we'll even escort them from Columbus to Oberlin, should make for a nice ride. Go up 3 or 62 and turn northwest after 50 miles or so. Gotta show her some good roads on the way, introduce her right and go through the hills of NE Ohio!
  18. Hi Darrell, When you remove the top, the joints you are looking for are across the front where the pins come out. There may be a couple more on the board, I'm sure someone will post a pic or two. The wires are long enuff to move the TCI, you just gotta re-wrangle them up around the left side to do it. You've already got the breather box and the battery box out, right? Easy to do at that point. Good luck, Dano
  19. Yea, "Skinny Cupcake" just doesn't have the same ring as "Skinny Squidley"........... Skinny Squidley
  20. That's good news Mini, glad to hear he made it back safe. Is he going back thru Rammstein on the way home? Maybe a Squeeze M&E? We're trying to set up the schedule to make Asheville, hoping it works out. Dan
  21. Randy, you have it exactly right, except it is actually the 2 half-clips that hold the thrust washer, middle gear, anti-ratchet cam and "the big spring" on the output axle. Yamaha manufactured (or bought) these clips out of metal that was too soft for the intended purpose. It didn't show up for a couple of years, therefore the fix in 85. The ONLY way to fix or repair is to replace the clips with the updated part. DO IT BEFORE 2nd STARTS JUMPING and save a lot of work having to repair the gears. You have to pull the motor and split the cases, but it could be done in a weekend with the proper tools and knowledge. Also, part of the problem was that there was not a lot of "engagement" between the dogs on 5th gear and the slots on second gear, allowing just a minute bit of wear on the split-clips to allow the "jumping" of the dogs around 2nd gear slots. If you do this, I would still disassemble the gear train on that shaft and undercut the dogs and the slots. This will make them pull together under load making sure that they won't let go. I did mine 3 years ago and it absolutely won't jump out on me, even when the front wheel is off the ground! Good luck, Dan
  22. Sooooooo, where are the pics???????
  23. :sign yeah that: You're right Zagger, that IS a beautiful bike with great looking machine work. I'd be proud to see that pull up in my driveway sometime. How about an audio file so we can hear that 4 way exhaust?! Be easy to spot a dead cylinder with those....... Great work! Gotta see that bike in person some day.
  24. Swifty,,,,, Pi$$ed??????? Say it ain't so!!!!!!!!!
