  1. He did it about the only way you could without causing any damage! Good riding!
  2. Thanks for the info Eck, we'll get a card out to him on Monday. Hope his recovery comes along well, that's one ol' fart that needs to be out on the road for a full recovery. Dan
  3. Glad you're back home safe and sound Jeff, wanted to be down there this weekend, but other things got in the way. Ya'll have fun and we'll see you soon! Glad you got to surprise everyone, wished I coulda been there to see that! Did Yammer fall outta his chair?!! Dan
  4. Sell them and buy mine! Or just buy it and then Rhonda will have her own!
  5. She would LIKE to pack a shower, private facility, etc. You get the drift...... You are right tho, storage is under the bed but it drops down about 7" to be able to fold the top over. You end up about 20-24" high under there, but you also have the canopy and poles in there too. Would make a perfect camper for a single rider. Of course there's a lot of storage in the container up front. I'm gonna have it on here for a week then post it to CL. Price is negotiable.
  6. What I see as most "Redneck" in that picture is the grill sitting out in the driveway in the rain!

    Timeout canopy

Try a couple of cane fishing poles (if they're longer than it is from diagonal corners) to bow up in the middle and hold that sucker up. I imagine a couple of zip ties will help hold them in place. Just an idea.....
  8. I wouldn't mind keeping it, but the wif packs too much stuff!
  9. Just listed- beautiful like new Kompact Kamp in the classifieds. Take a look and call me, we'll talk!
  10. Look on the bright side Charlie, the fish are a LOT easier to find now!
  11. I personally think you diagnosed it yourself. At 800 miles the rings aren't fully seated but it will still trap gas if a carb was leaking a bit. After a few moments the cylinder will clear itself and things will be back to normal. If it doesn't happen again, that's probably what it was. Dan
  12. I know exactly where that rope swing is, but you gotta go down by Mohican Wilderness campground to go up on the old railroad bridge piling to REALLY appreciate a good rope swing! We've been camping at MW since the early 70's, before Wally Rd. became popular with all the "campgrounds" they have up there now. But, if you're talking riding/driving roads, go down Wally Rd till where it dead-ends into Greer, turn right or left on 514 and enjoy the ride! Spent plenty of times back in the 70's making that race back down 514 to Columbus to church on Sunday morning! Even spun out a couple of times(Back in my Corvair racing days!). Love going up there every year
  13. They also are required to use due care when entering intersections, especially if it's red.
  14. That zerk fitting is factory, don't waste your time putting grease in there as it absolutely does NOTHING!. You need to pull the rear drive and the shaft to do it properly.
  15. You've got to pull the tranny shaft out and disassemble it anyway to replace the c-clips, might as well pull the gears off and undercut them to reduce any chance of slippage. Second and fifth barely engage anyway (the 5th gear dogs barely go into the second gear slots) and the undercut will eliminate that possibilty by actually pulling the gears together under load. That way you can fully enjoy the 1st-2nd shift without any worries! Also be a good time to adjust the valves and replace the cover gaskets and the cover bolt gaskets. Heres a couple of pics of how I did it, last pic is a nice addition that would help out those 1st to 2nd shift changes!
  16. A few months ago they were looking at property about a mile and a half away from my house for a plant to replace the York PA plant. Kinda glad they didn't accept it, would've been nice for the county and property taxes but I'm glad we won't have to put up with the noise and traffic.
  17. Bob........ you been hittin' the peyote again? Better check them lyrics again......
  18. Glad to hear Mary is feeling better, nothing worse than being stuck in a hospital when you're on vacation. I hope you can get back to your vacation soon! Dan
  19. That's what I thought, the real thing!
  20. I like that new name!
  21. Ya gotta love it when it's just the simple things! Like I told my son the other day while he was working on his car, always start at the beginning and check everything twice! Makes repairs alot easier that way! Glad you got it fixed for good, now you can go ridin'!!!!!!!
  22. Todd, you might want to keep that short thing growin' a bit longer! Only 6 years? Have had mine since the early 90's, but I'm told that no one but Mama Rose gets to cut mine off........... How long is Bubbas? He might make a better contributor and make some more $$$$$$!!!
  23. 'Slayer, I bet the reason your rotor came off so easy is because it has been off before. When these are torqued on in the factory, they probably use the heat/rotor--cold/crank type deal to really seal them together. I'm surprised it came off THAT easy though. Make sure that crank bolt is really tight when you reassemble. In lieu of using the plug to center everything, you could snug the clutch bolts a bit the slide it on the crank and tighten it just a tad. Then pull it back off and finish torqueing the clutch bolts. Good Luck! Dan
  24. Go two wheels, never look back. My son started when he was 7, he's finally ready to jump on my IT400 and give it a whirl. Squidley-- you're NEVER too old to jump on a dirt bike and have some fun! Keeps the skills up for the 1st gen!! (Try keeping ME from going on the Redbud track again!)
  25. Still on those meds after cutting the finger off, eh?! No wonder mama won't let you near the saw!!!!
