Being a Licensed Master Electrician Sole Proprietor, here are the parameters needed: #1-Codes are only established for THE BARE MINIMUM REQUIRED FOR SAFETY, NOT a good, correctly engineered and layed out installation. #2-Aluminum is as good a conductor for feeders only as copper is, just has a higher resistance to electrical flow than copper (10 ohms Cu- 12 ohms Al), must be used in total calculations. 3)- You can only load a feeder or circuit (residential) to 80% of the amperage rating of the circuit breaker. IE: 100 amp breaker is only allowed to carry 80 amps thru it, allows for extra induction of amperage for start-up of equipment and possible nuisance tripping of the breaker. 4)- Most all breakers out there today are Al/Cu compatible, but the device usage (plugs/switches) MUST be rated for Al connection if used on aluminum wiring. This is just a good start, as you can see the correct electrical installations needs a bit of investigation!

Why make plans?? You don't have a destination in the end planned (maybe you Patti, just not sure about Don!). You'll have a much better time at it!....

Found time to get back on here-- ( Where have I been ??? )
Dano replied to GeorgeS's topic in Watering Hole
Glad to see you on here George, I don't get on here as often myself. Busy as you are, outside the property w/the business and a lot inside the property. Still recoverin' a bit from 3 yrs ago but always workin' towards it. Always ride safe -
Shoulda given me a call Don, you know my son and I could take a look at it and get some fixin' done for ya! You have stopped for me when I needed it, would like to return the favor!!

I know with what I've been thru since I found the 1st Gen bike and joined this group. Bluntly and honestly, my best 2nd family! Been thru bad, good and the rest. Have seen more of this country than I would have with the Internationals we have attended. Since my unfortunate (for it!) meeting with the 8 point buck on my 2nd Gen 3-1/2 years ago, you folks all came together, helped me and Rose out totally, graciously and financially. ESPECIALLY you Don with the stops you made at the hospital to check on our wherewithall during the recovery. Like I say, means SOOO much to most of us on this site to have a world-wide family to share with!

Yammer Dan went down !
Dano replied to ragtop69gs's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Wow. So sorry to hear that Yammer went down last nite! I hope he is doing better, I know how broken ribs can feel! At least when I went down the bike threw me into a nice, wet, muddy cut down bean field... -
Kinda explains why I'm startin' to get back into it, brain STILL didn't get knocked back straight! Got it tried by that 8-pointer a couple years ago but.....

Just an upgrade to one of the earliest serial numbers ever come across! The Port Union Kid (a newer member here) just told me yesterday when I met him that he has owned his 83VR since new and it is #1134 ! The rotor is completely different than any I've seen, has the ignition triggers welded on and not in the casting mold, much thicker and heavier than newer ones! I'll post a pick when I get's the camera back out... Wanted to let our "ol farts" know of the find!

Gotta do this myself,,,,manufacturing across the board from the bike being built to the frame adaptor making it to you contributes to the minor mis-adjustment.....
