Merry Christmas to all on this wonderful gathering place that Don has created, Gods love and peace to those that have passed into His arms and their families this past year and continued success to all. Dan and Rose

Most thermostats have what they call a "fail-open" clip built in. If it goes bad it stays open instead of closed so that you can safely make it to your destination. Another case of a 25c addition to the manufacture of a part saves hundreds down the road. Happened to me on two different vehicles within 3 weeks of each other!

If it were me, and I had a layover in Germany, I think I would add a second continent to the M&E schedule and give Squeeze a shout.........

Glad to see things are looking up a bit for you and Haylie. May Christmas bring a bit of joy to your life and allow you to enjoy it for the season it is meant to be. As always, there's no place like home to celebrate the holidays, even if you have to go back there to do it. Safe travels for you both and may the New Year bring an easier path for you two to travel. Dan & Rose

You got all winter to clean her up, I would've gone for a ride! You can't replace good riding days, but you can always do a sponge bath in the garage!

Accessory Wiring ?
Dano replied to GolfVenture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Youse guys have saved me a lot of typing by doing all the 'splaining for me! Great job. You could also have Don copy this to the tech section for electrical hook-up schematics. Merry Christmas, Dan- 39 replies

That is a beautiful video Lowell, thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you too. Glad to see that your health is coming around, you should be back on the scoot come spring, plenty of time to heal up proper. We'll look forward to seeing you out on the road. Dan

Ahhhh, now we get all the info! Condensation won't be a problem with storage like that. I'd still take a longer ride than 10 miles tho! Why get all dressed up just to go around the block?
-
It's actually harder on the oil to just ride 10 miles or so, the oil doesn't heat up enough to burn off the water and condensation created in the crankcase. It's best to go for at least 30 minutes or longer, in order to really heat things up. I assume you have a second gen or RS, those I would turn the petcock off just to alleviate the gas dripping by a not fully seated float valve.

Shucks, and here I thought that Air Force Major Alicia Irwing (even sent a photo!) REALLY wanted me to buy her 02 Honda Accord for 1200 bucks shipped to me from SPain aboard a C-130! Dang, guess I'll have to try again! Thank you for your interest in my car. This is a 2002 Honda Accord EX, 4-cyl engine, 47,300 miles, Automatic, VIN 1HGCG66812A056231 , clean title. Here you can find more pictures with the car: http://picasaweb.google.com/alicia.irwing/MyHonda?feat=directlink The vehicle is in EXCELLENT condition; the body and paint are immaculate, no scratches and no dents; the interior is clean; it has never been involved in any kind of accident. The A/C is working very well. I'm an US Air Force Maj. currently stationed in Spain and the car is here with me. It was brought from US and it still has US registration documents, because I didn't register it here in Spain, taxes are extraordinary high because the car has US specs. It makes more sense buying a used car from here, they are very cheap. The shipping will take up to 7 business days and you will also have 10 days to inspect and test drive the vehicle from the moment it arrives at your place. I will handle shipping, we have military cargo planes leaving every week. There will be no extra or hidden taxes for you to pay since the car is still registered in US. In case you decide not to keep the car I'm responsible for shipping back costs. As I'm unable to travel in the near future and I don't have anyone available back home to help me with the sale I decided to sell this car through eBay or craigslist. The transaction will be made entirely through eBay Motors escrow services and we'll both be covered. The final price is $1,200 including shipping from Spain to the US and delivery to your home address. You will have to pay some eBay taxes too, about $80, so it will come to about $1280 total. If you agree with these terms and you have the money, send me your full name and the address where you want the car to be delivered and I will initiate the transaction with eBay. You will receive all the transaction details from them. I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day P.S. Sorry for the long email I have tried to touch all bases -- Maj. Alicia Irwing http://i55.tinypic.com/2hfmgr7.jpg

Electrical Problem
Dano replied to Sgt.Keele's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My theory is electrical is OK, we're looking at a carb or ignition system problem here. Mine would do that with a good stator/reg-rec. Ended up being a vacuum leak that didn't happen till the bike was good and warm. JMHO
