What is your DC voltage at the battery, then check revving it up a bit? AC is good, but it's low compared to the DC voltage out of the regulator.

Spray some starting fluid at the intakes from carb to head, if rpm's increase you found the air leak; you said the intakes were cracked and that's where your extra air enters and fouls idling abilities for these machines. I knew my abilities were gettin' better!

Did you try and impress the Warden?

Wife and I were on Maui back in 96, found a Harley rental shop, got a 95 Heritage Softail for 24 hrs, $160 cost. We rode that bike on the ONLY twisties on Maui, the road to Hana which took 2 hours for 30 miles of travel. Along the coastline with forest reserves on the right and waterfront on the left...... Best ride I've EVER taken!

Nice looking bike rebuild, time doesn't matter to these bikes! I still have my 84 Red, can't really feel able to part with it because they stay so young..... -
Looks a little more like the truth.....:whistling:

Considering him one of the Fathers of modern horsepower and racing, just think of the Shelby he built in his garage back in 59 or 60 before they became popular.

Hey Rider, good job getting back on the bike, if you connect the vacuum ports together (front to back, a SMALLER V-boost setup...), you still have to get the "vacuum sensor" hooked up on the front left cylinder (#2) for the bike to run right. Tying the cylinders together the way you want isn't worth it, been done before this way and don't work that well..... better to pick up 1/8" plugs with little clamps to hold them on, if not you gotta have a "T" on the left side one to hookup the "sensor" I talked about, so there's still a "trip to da store" involved..... You'll find the 2 plugs coming down the left rear frame bar right behind the engine to hookup the oil sensor and gear selector switch connectors. Maybe you'll fire it up this weekend!!

Momma had to go with me.........she said NO Give me a couple of months.... Got a 1000 less than the last one I got and you KNOW how many I added to it.... Going to Dons but I'm afraid little $$ income will hold us back from doing Int'l this year... Oh yeah, that's starting tomorrow! Jim says hey back to ya!

Wife hit a bump around the corner from the house,,,,, couple of them came off...... Thanks Eck, good luck with them putting you where you wanna be.... Oh yeah, it went in the back of the Durango, he had new upgraded speakers put in there!!

Took a 924 mile round trip yesterday, picked up an ALMOST NEW (only 3533 miles on an '08) RSV to make mine again. Wanna say howdy and thanks to Jim and his wife and their dog Rowdy, it was great meeting them. Got back at 5 AM this morning! Better to sleep in your own bed! Trailer was almost too short, we had to take the trunk off! But that's why I ALWAYS take my tool bag with me!!
