All that are going to the funeral, please let the family know that if we all could attend, we certainly would be there. Unfortunately, circumstances prevent me from coming, and I most definately would get up at whatever time it took to get there from here. What pills are you guys taking? My doc suggested it at my 50 yr checkup in August, me & him ain't seen eye to eye for 20 years now (cause of my smoking), till he started riding a bike and we got to talkin about that (a Shadow, so I guess he's ridin). I'm really leaning towards "starting living smoke free" (Freebird:whistling:), been smokin since I was 18. Thanks guys (& gals). Dan

Indy area OK, up north in Elkhart county (just east of South Bend, Notre Dame area) they got hit by a tornado, 160 mph winds, lots of damage in Nappannee. Thanks for checking with us! Dan

First thing this morning, I hear of a local rider (community person) died after hitting a deer last night on his way home from a local ride. Then my wife calls to tell me our niece was in a roll-over wreck at 2:30 this morning (only 17, in Riley Hosp. for Children with a lacerated spleen). Then I get on here and read this. Our hearts in this family are heavy for the pain that has been received over the last 12 hours. I pray for Gary, I'm sure that our Lord and Saviour has Leslie in his arms now, and He will take care of Gary as he recovers. It will be up to us to help him through the times ahead. 83 Venture overheating Help

Any good 4" speaker, either 3 way or 2 way will work, just check ohms required by the speaker to match the ohms output of your radio. Power requirements are not that high, so a 50 watt speaker will probably do the trick. Dan

Not true about the old stock at Walmart and Sams Club. They buy the new stuff just like everyone else. If manufacturers had enough old stock to keep the pipeline full at Walmart, they would go out of business. Got this info from a Sams Club manager and from people in Bentonville, may not be ols stock, but end-of-run for those models that other retailers didn't pickup. Dan

Just my opinion, bought a 46" Samsung High-def (1080p) LCD TV.Cost around 2900.00 at HH Gregg's (local retailer) back in Feb. Rates just below the Sony Bravia (uses same electronic components, just uses the ones that don't meet Sony's demand spec's). Spectacular picture, will handle all signalsthat will be used in the future. You definately want one that has multiple HDMI inputs ( for different gear, ie DVR, DVD, etc.). Get the biggest one you can fit in the space alloted, you won't believe the stuff you've been missing on a regular TV! Also get a High-def outdoor aentenna to hook-up to it, most local channels broadcast in h-d. My local CBS and NBC affiliates broadcast in 1080i, great for sports, almost like being there. Haven't checked out cable hd yet, not activated in our area. DO NOT settle for anything less than the 1080p, or you will end up being disappointed! Also- on the Plasma, it has a glass screen which will reflect any light object, disturbing your view. LCD has a matte screen which mutes any light (window, lamp) that reflects off of it. One more thing, don't go for DLP or rear projection. Spend the money and go with the best you can get. OOPS, also, don't buy at wallyworld or Sams Club. They are old stock from manufacturers that they bought at a discount. Go to a reputable dealer and you won't go wrong! Good luck! Dan

If someone can be found (Hello Georgia and Alabama!), probably just take a few days. Your's must have been made early in the year, because they re-did the tranny in 85 to fix this. Is it gone or just jumping out under heavy throttle in 2nd gear? Dan -
I started my son (just turned 15 today!) on a kx60 at age 7, rode mostly trails (his choice), just a little motocross tracks (I hate 'em), he moved to a YZ85 3 yrs ago, ready for a YZ250F (4 stroke, like a 125 2 stroke). He has studied my riding for years, out rides older guys on the trails, his fair share of crashes. I will let him go to the street when he is ready, after proper abate training course. I shall certainly trust him more than a lot of other riders I see out there. He rides with me on the Venture and spots stuff out to me! Good luck with your decision. Dan

HHHMMMMMMM, dare I say: GO COLTS!!!!!!!! The only competition for the Colts this year is going to be the Patriots, they play again at our house and I don't think they stand a chance!!!! We played Tampa Bay with 5 of our starters out (Harrison, Addai, Morris, Bob Sanders to name 4), and beat the Bucs 33-14. TB couldn't run, pass or shoot their way into the end zone. My neighbor, who parts out and fixes up older bikes for a living (pretty good at it, too), has an 81 or 82 920 Virago for sale.A little over 12k on it, looks great, carbs done, tune up, general check out. Runs great, 90% rear tire (ME880), front probably needs replaced, foam grips, Jardine exhaust. PM me if interested. In Indianapolis on SE side in Shelby County. He's asking $1500.
