  1. Soooo, did the wife let you use the bathtub or the kitchen sink to get the motor clean? I need to know which approach you used to get her to let you do that?!? I don't have water out in the garage or office, so I need some help here. Motor and paint job look awesome, hopefully mine can be half as good looking! Good luck with the rest of the project! Dan
  2. I got one like this from graingers, then took it back after I replaced my horizontal furnace in the house with a vertical. Realized I could put my horizontal up in the rafters of my garage and snout it down, saving me all that money (for my second gear repairs)! Dan
  3. Down with the third day of p-monia right now, doc says no work till Monday, didn't get enuff snow to plow for money, guess I got time to work on the bike this weekend! Got the fairing off in 1 hour last week, gotta pull crash bars off to get it into my heated office to complete the engine removal for my second gear project. Too bad ya gotta get sick to get time to work on your scoot! Been laying here for 2 days shiverin' and sleepin' just thinkin I could be working on my bike! We sure do think strangely, don't we? Dan
  4. Only down to 6(f) here in Indy tonite, was 0(f) last night........ Dan
  5. It was 0f up to 16 the last 2 days here. Went over and started a rough-in on the electrical on a new house yesterday. Took along my 2 salamanders (190,000 btu between the two), got it up to 32 in the house by 5. Dressed right, worked hard, kept warm!!! Dan
  6. Hmmm, 58 up North, snowing in the South---Must be global warming!!!!! LOL Dan

    help please

Hip, this was on here last week, now it's about three pages back. Here's the part #: DIAPHRAGM ASSY (1FK-14940-09-00) (replaces 1FK-14940-00-00) Check Zanottis or Flatout for prices Good luck, Dan
  10. Family (wifes side) is trying to get rid of one (time share) in Abaco, Bahamas. Beautiful place, didn't realize when we got into it that it would be too hard to get to. Rebuilt after hurricanes, beach side location, if I was rich I'd be there every winter. Even had drinks with Mr. Hilton (yes, that Mr. Hilton) at the bar next door one night. Wish we would have done it stateside. Dan
  11. Dang, man. You didn't beat me to it, did you? :(:( Dan
  12. Basketball games, honey-do's, afternoon nap, already ran the gas down low to start working on her. Dang weather needs to quit teasing me! I'll never get started on the projects! Dan
  13. [quote=dr.nemo;165415]Was the engine running..? I did warm the engine up to check cylinder temps! Dan
  14. They forgot to show up again! Should have stayed with last games lineup, would've done better. Dan
  15. DO you have to readjust your carbs to use the methane gas, just like you do for methanol? :rotf: Dan
  16. Interesting thread, as I will soon be tearing down my84 for the 2nd gear project, I also plan to do housekeeping on everything! (Might not get back on the road till fall if I don't watch it!). I'll check mine when I take off the fairing before I disconnect the electrical system. Might still be a couple weeks till I get to that cause of sons basketball, meetings, and some guy giving me a bunch of bike-fixing cash to wire up his new house! I'll report as soon as I can. Dan
  17. I moved mine from one side of the garage to the other, does that count? Dan
  18. [quote=Neil86;164910]Pretty sure the front left caliper is linked with the rear caliper, right front runs from handlebar lever. Yep, my dyslexia kicked in again! Hope it doesn't happen when I need to pull in the clutch!!!!! Thanks Neil. Dan
  19. I would do what Kit suggested, but also do it on both front rotors. A bent rotor would not have to be out much to cause a wobble. The harder you're on the brakes, the more pronounced the wobble. Or, take a test ride, then try applying the front brake only (right handlebar lever), then the combo front/rear brake. This could help eliminate which rotor. The left rotor is the handlebar activated caliper, the right rotor is hooked up to the rear. This holds true in your car, also. It usually happens when hot brake rotors hit cold water. Also, pull your pads and "S" sand them on 400 grit sandpaper to dull the glaze on them. Just a couple more suggestions, and good luck, Dan PS- a warped rotor will also cause the "hit & skip" braking sensation, as if the tire is losing grip with the road.
  20. Sorry, got the wrong paste on here, I'll fix it! Actually, this is the bike I posted for Squidley. Dan PS- new URL is on 1st post now, and here. http://auto-rv.com/browse.aspx?AdName=CI5390032
  21. Think of the "beverages" he could haul on that! Not to forget Lonnas cheesecake! Dan
  22. Found this in our local AutoRV mag http://auto-rv.com/browse.aspx?AdName=CI5390032 Nice bike from looking at it. If anyone wants me to put eyeballs on it, let me know. Dan
  23. Brad, whilst perusing my local AutoRV mag, came across this and thought of you. Might be a bit high, but might not. I know you'll be looking soon, and wanted to point it out to ya. http://auto-rv.com/browse.aspx?AdName=CI5400239 If you need me to go take a ride on it for ya, just let me know! Dan
  24. Congrats on the success in raising a smart daughter, I have the pleasure of having one (I think so) also. We received a letter from Ball State University earlier this week congratulating her on making the Deans Honor Roll List for the first semester (3.68 cumulative GPA). Good luck in figuring out the future! A good problem to have. Dan
  25. I've got Progressive (Drive Ins) for my cars and my bike for 3 years now. Crunched in the front of my Durango, paid my share (500) and they paid the rest, no questions. Rates didn't even raise. Bike costs me 284 for the year, full coverage (84 standard). Dan
