  1. ((not trying to pul wheelies or doing burnouts, are we????))) Whispering so no one else hears!!!!
  2. Last time I went ridin' down there was in '97, brought my IT400 down with me (there for 7 weeks) and rode in the Canadien River bed every night after work till about 9 or so. Lotta fun, not much else to do down there!

    It's Fixed

Yeah, but look at all the global warming he DIDN'T cause by not having the battery hooked-up!!!! I know, I know, he traded those "credits" in for running the grill!!!! Good job Hoosiers, show those Illini how to do it right! Dan
  4. I think that's a great plate frame for your bike. That'll remind me when I change out mine to also light up the plate. I wouldn't mind LEO pulling me over for something I wasn't aware of. That's just one more light to illuminate the rear of your bike.
  5. It's global warming..... haven't you been listening to Al Gore!!!!
  6. I've got one, but I haven't been able to split the rear manifold (or down pipes) from it yet. If I can, it's yours for the postage. That's the way we roll around here! Dan
  7. Tell him I said thanks for the exhaust!!!!!!!!
  8. My only thought is,,, I've never seen motor oil eat up paint like that, but hydraulic fluid does..... Might also check the neutral indicator assembly located just in front of the shifter shaft where it exits the left side of the motor.
  9. Must be a 1st gen pullin' that trailer!!!!!! I'm jealous, I would even ride in the rain to be with you guys right now!!!!
  10. If you want to link the cylinders----do what I did and get a Vboost kit for it!!!!!!:cool10::cool10:
  11. You're not using 2 stroke air filter oil on that thing, are you? That's what the purple looks like, thought I was looking in the filter box for my old Yammi IT400 dirt bike there for a second. Oh, wait a minute, it's only got 1 carb!!!!!!!!! Dan:rotf:
  12. Mike, what you've got there is a hydraulic clutch fluid leak. It'll eat the paint off of anything. Under that rubber cover is the bleed screw for the slave cylinder for the clutch system. Probably got a seal in the slave cylinder leaking. Looking at my naked frame, someone may have made a reweld on the frame, but nothing new has been added. Check your fluid in the clutch master cylinder, it's probably low. Not sure how hard it is to get off in the frame, but doable with a seal rebuild kit. Let us know what you find out. Good luck, Dan That metal line is your clutch fluid line

    Old meets new.

I believe somewhere on here is a post for "our" business cards. PM Freebird and see if he knows. Dan
  14. How about intake manifold boot leaks, vacuum hose leaks, YICS box leaks????

    Old meets new.

Need to find out who that is and get them signed up on here!!!! Try Freebirds strong-arm tactics!! Works for him!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. P.S. Thanks Condor for putting this Deal up. And I'm glad that you relieved me from my Duty on keeping the List :D What else are you gonna do, Squeeze? You're not working on your bikes, the truck is fixed (I presume!), and somebody's got to keep us straight!! ( oh, by the way--- vacation day today-or should I say----working on the bike day!!!! Nobody home to bother me, coffe's almost done-- time to get greasy!!!!). Great job on the list, too!! Dan:bighug:
  17. Sorry to hear of your loss, I believe he was already in a better place. Hope and prayers to the parents and yourself. Dan
  18. Does it shift up and back from 1st to 2nd OK? Most likely it is a shift pin on the outside of the shift drum has come out. I had this happen to me, but only it was 4th gear and I was in Cincinnati at the time, 125 mi from home. Pull the right clutch cover off, you will see a round object with 6 pins and bent over tabs holding each one in; approximately an 1-1/4" in diameter, located to the left of the clutch.. If a tab is straightened and there is no pin in the hole, that is why it won't shift up. If all the pins are in there, unfortunately you may have a problem in the tranny, either a bent fork or the gears aren't aligning correctly. If it is the tranny, you can cure all that with a second gear rebuild and cure the problem forever. Sounds like you need to do that anyway. Plenty of help here, just ask!!! I'm in the middle of my rebuild right now. Dan
  19. I haven't gotten one before because I could not justify the 150 dollars for something that costs a third of that to manufacture. I'm sure they make a fine product, but I don't buy gold or platinum when steel will do the job it's intended to do. Thanks Condor, we appreciate ALL your hard work to save us all a ton of money (now we can buy the pretty goodies!) Thanks again, Dan PS--- if Squeeze is gonna buy one, I'm not one to go against him!!!
  20. No nasty's intended, Squeeze, I really appreciate the encouragement. Got the gears done and reassembled the drive axle last night, unfortunately thats all. Will really get it into "gear" (nice pun, huh!) tonite. You better get going too!! Hope your "rear-end" is working better and glad we finally had a chance to help you! Off to work now, Dan
  21. OK, update time... Finished my (house) taxes Monday nite after baseball game and 10 minutes on here. Took boys Honda Elite scooter apart last night, drilled out the washer in the exhaust and removed the clutch limiter plate....extra 7 mph off the bat, need to adjust carb (falling flat on its face at WOT) and he can put it back together (plastics). Did his taxes last night, finished and sent at 11:30 PM. Have the dogs cut on 5th gear, got some new stones today to do undercut and try undercut on the pockets on the 2nd gear side....all parts are in for re-assembly.. Will finish cutting gears tonite, redo the containment plate on shift cam pins (got 1 finger tweaked and cracked-fix it now) and will start reassembly of drive axle tonite. Took the next 2 days off, do a side job tomorrow (gotta pay for a superbrace! THanks Condor) get back on the bike after that, should have motor together by the weekend. Then on to the frame and everything else!!! Thanks for keepin' kickin' me in the butt Squeeze, Dan
  22. 25. Danob11 Put my name in the list, might as well do this too!!
  23. I like the chain drive!!!!!!
  24. Dano

    Lucky break.

So Spear, what did you buy for the bike???
  25. WAKE UP SLEEPY HEAD!!!!!! Ahhh, that was time between work and time to go to boys baseball game (life interferes!). Finish up taxes tonite. (This is break time between game and taxes) What you got there is a "locking" differential. The one I was describing was a "posi-trac" diff. Forgot to post about the difference in 1st post. You should see 2 little pins on the side of the spider gear case----- this is what makes it "lock in" both axles instead of letting one slip as in a posi-trac. Good luck with your "TOY"!!!! Dan
