Here goes; the 2nd situation that i have found. Intakes are oval, vboost is round. As far as I can tell, the bottom matches up well for the oring, but the top is too short. I don't think it will seat. Was the intake design changed from oval to round? just on the maxxes or the ventures, too? Bolt pattern matches up, seems like the base angle and the vboost angle are just slightly different, but it bolted up tight.

Wow. I'm gonna try it when I get the motor in (do carbs clear the frame?). Maybe leave false cover off. WIll operate manually for now with cable and thumb switch (pegscraper idea). Most likely will wait till after maintenance day to really screw with it and talk theory and possibilities. But you gotta admit------ IT LOOKS AWESOME!!!!!!!! Dan Just think-- at night with red leds under the airbox shining out the sides highlighting the vboost and carbs------SCHWEEEETTTT!!!!

The cap needs to be in there, I believe, that's what the rod pushes against. If there is a difference in depth (lay them side by side and do a comparison), I would say the cap needs to be relocated. You could check with Barnett and see what they say.

Haven't got that far yet, as you can see it's still on the bench. Should have forks by this weekend so I can get 2 wheels back on her to get the motor in. Only got a couple of weeks left, so it may have to wait till after maintenance day. But we'll see. Dan

Discovered your problem. Take your L brackets off, mount them to each side of the board across the center of the hole with the legs on the board running the same way as the board (90d to the way you have them now). Push the board all the way up against the clutch housing as far as you can, and that should help keep them from bending. Dan

Lookin' forward to meeting you out on a ride sometime Gary, we've all been through this with you, albeit from a distance, and I'm glad things are getting better. Just one more stage to go thru. Dan

Is it possible that our browsers cache is full (on our own pc's) and we need to "clean it", Don? I experience the same thing when I'm going to post in a thread or waiting for the 2nd page, etc. to open. By the way, saw you got up same time as me this am- 6:45..... You keep late nights and early morns like me. Thanks, Dan PS met an RSTD rider at a local shop today, has 50,000 on his '03--- heading out to NM in a month, told him about the site and our stuff going on here. One more closer to 5000! Sounds like Lowell's son!

Fork Oil - Level or Quantity

Is there a way, and if not, where can I get seals? www.flatoutmotorcycles.com is the place to go to order parts, just mention you're with venturerider.org when you place an order. Best prices online for parts. I know you can rebuild them yourself, but there are some special tools you need to make, and it's not a clean job. While you're in there, might as well change the "sliders" and bushings, too. http://www.buckeye performance.com has a complete kit for 125 bucks that contains seals, bushings, dust seals, etc. for your rebuild. Good luck Dan -
You keep rambling, old fart, and yes, we do listen and experience with you. You need someone to talk to, and we are that someone. Prayers going out for you and yours, Dan

Lights flashed off for a couple of seconds this morning, but power has been on all day. But my neighbor , who just lives around the corner, is on a different power co. and for once, HIS has been out all day instead of mine. I bought a generator last winter (06-07) because power went out all the time, but since I've gotten it, powers not gone out at all! Matter of fact, he's the first one to use it! Had strong winds in Indiana, but I hear a possible tornado by Columbus, OH. Haven't called my family over there to see whats up yet. Internet and cable was down for a couple of hours this PM, but everything OK now. Dan

Just a thought, but where does the neutral indicator switch on the shift cam fit in? If it's not making contact in neutral, would this cause your problem? Dan
-
I bet Frogman would do it! He's got plenty of experience crossing his creek! Should be a walk in the park!! Dan

Hey, everybody rejoice! We finally got Squeeze on sumthin he didn't know!!! Ah well, I knew it couldn't last forever!! Dan

Sounds like that's the way to go, Mark. Just be carefull bending that tab back over so you don't break it. It'll be pretty weak there at the bend. Dan
