  1. How bad is the clean-up, and are your nostrils OK???????:rotf:
  2. Totally agree. When did the ACLU start running the country, anyway?
  3. You know MamaMo got a lot of pent-up frustration about that bush, don'tcha?! I think you should just introduce them to each other and then go out back and work on the bike for awhile............. natural selection of the species should take over then.:stirthepot: Dan Just a thought!!!
  4. V4ME probably saw him in the driveway lookin' at the bike......................

Yeah, sure, rub it in why don'tcha>>>>>>................Musta been nice to take that ride.............One of these days I'll get back out there. Just short of puttin' the rear end on and the exhaust. Rebuilt calipers and put the front wheel on for the last time yesterday, oil and antifreeze in,,,,, gonna wait to put fairings on till I start it and run it up and down the road a couple of times........drive lights are ones I've had in the garage for 10+ years now, 'nother project long forgot about, Squidleys brackets, STILL waiting to hear from TupperJ on battery cables..... would be nice to put them in now.................
  6. Once again, the fiche at Flatout is wrong. I checked last night and from 83-7, they list the 47g # as being the right part for it. It's a Yamaha factory parts list, which one are you looking at? They may have the right thermostat gasket listed, too. Should have an 01 after the part number.
  7. Just glad you're not a PLUMBER!!!!! :rotf::rotf:
  8. Let me know when you guys want to do it again, we'll join up with ya'.
  9. My 84 has the straight pipe to the twinkie,,,, just to let you know, they forgot to measure the distance correctly,,, when I mounted the pipe to the airbox and set it in place all snugged down (the airbox), the NEW FACTORY pipe was about an inch too short!! Had to lower it on the airbox and then stretch it to fit the twinkie. Dan
  10. Any clue where to get one? I've got a brand new clamp I'll sell ya at cost plus a couple bucks for shipping, ordered it, got it, then the one I thought I lost miraculously showed up!!!!! You'll need a bolt for it, don't know why but they sell them separately!! Just checked the price----20 bucks for the band, couple bucks for shipping-- 22 bucks altogether and I'll ship it out tomorrow for ya---- if'n you want it. PM me and let me know, I'll be back on here later. If you need to order parts, Flatout will get you the best prices, just tell them you're with Venturerider...... Dan

Just like the "lollipop man" in F1, it's the responsibility of the right front tire man to hold the car till it's clear, there was one episode yesterday with 2 cars coming down pit lane and the tire changer sent the car out in between them and caused damage. Blame Briscoe for Danicas out, he had plenty of room to take the left lane. Yeah for Vitor, he almost pulled that one off!! Back to work on the bike now, later! Dan BTW, didn't even watch the Coke 600 last night, watched the replay whilst workin'
  12. Loaded for me.
  13. Yeah Jack, mine just had a piece of radiator hose goin in there, replaced it today with the factory job, looks a lot better, and its easier to get the airbox in.
  14. If anybody wants it, I've got a Cycle Sound cover, got the factory setup last year and it's going in the bike this week. Just PM me. Dan
  15. Don't know, wasn't me, I was in the garage puttin' mine back together. We all Hoosiers gonna have to get together, here. I'm in NW SHelby county, where's Charlestown? Dan

Been going since I moved here in 1980, seats since 93 in the third turn up high. Good for backstretch and thru 3 & 4. Big screens a definite advantage. Didn't go this year, first I've missed since living here. Just now watching the replay cause it's blacked out locally live. Listened to it while working on the bike, that is an exercise in using your mind as they talk it out! Would be on my "Bucket list" of things to do if I didn't live here. BTW, "Snake Pit", both 4th & 1st turns thru the 80's------ all I can say is-----YOU HAD TO BE THERE!!!!!! Most times, esp. in early 80's, we never even saw the race!!!! Passed out by then. Much more sober and responsible nowadays. Definately do it!! Dan
  17. HHHMMMM, maybe this way? I sincerely () doubt that the fender rail will fit either, might as well send it , too! BTW, does it have the nice lights and all the goodies on there? Just kiddin', if you decide to get rid of them, send me a PM and we'll talk. Dan
  18. Happened only in your dreams, though, right?!?!?!? At least you had a fore-warning of it!!!! Honestly, it happens to the best of us. Hope not too much damage done. It's sickening to see that ssllllloooowwwwwww roll over isn't it? That's why we have a forum for this type of thing! We all do it! At least once! (Maybe twice ) Dan
  19. Recommended DOT3 because the fluid has probably never been changed,,,,,, best to leave a change in fluid type till you can change it all out. Just my opinion (), but definately do not use DOT5! 3,4 or 5.1 are the only ones compatible.
  20. What pictograph lights up at the same time? light, oil, could be anything. Doesn't do it when easy riding? I'd be looking for a loose connection somewhere.
  21. Fixed again!!!! Oh, don't forget------ ONLY use DOT3 fluid in there. Now find an all night parts store and get that thing fixed for the ride!!!!! Then replace it as soon as you get the new one in. That's why I ordered new ones for my rebuild project. Dan
  22. Who can tear their bike completely down, fix 2nd gear, re-oil seal & o-ring the motor, paint the frame, redo all the mechanicals,etc.............oh, yeah, adjust the valves,,,,,,,,,,,,never having done this before, and ride their fresh bike to maintenance day???????????????????? :confused24: Oh well, it was a dream, if only for a minute!!!!!!!!!!!!! I actually like the deal for the region, etc. idea that was brought up.
  23. That's all right Squeeze, we'll forgive you. We'll wait till the morning to see the results of the 1st turn, maybe your prediction will come true. Seems like Kimi can't keep his nose out of trouble on the harder tracks. BTW, bike coming along nicely, with the major exception of......................................... FREAKIN' SWING ARM SHOCK LINK BUSHINGS ARE BACK-ORDERED TILL THE 2ND! Chris at Flatout didn't have the b*lls to tell me earlier in the week, waited till 4:30 yesterday when I went in for my other parts that they weren't in. Does anybody make aftermarket bushings for them???? I figured if anybody knew, you would, 'cause YOU'RE THE KING!!!!! Dan
  24. Nice job! You wanna come down and finish my bike for me!?!?!?!?!?!:whistling: Dan BTW, Ferrari 1&2 this morning, bodes well for the race tomorrow, need to send Squeeze some cheese for that w(h)ine we're gonna hear!!!!
  25. Most Harbor Freight motors are Chinese cr*p, that's where most of their stuff comes from. Don, I'll still bring my scissors with me if'n we need to cut the grass for ya................ Dan
