  1. We've been hit by a Dragonslayer virus!@!!!!! He's everywhere!!!!!
  2. Hopefully you're replacing the bearings and the races as a set! If not, you're just throwing away the cost of that new bearing. Dan

    " O K"

I70 should be OK thru Eastern Illinois and Indiana, I would check around St. Louis, tho. Stop by if you come thru Indy, just ring me on my cell (317-370-0139) if you're coming thru..... Have a good ride, Dan
  4. Ever thought about just getting another pair of forks? These tubes might be bent, also. It sounds like you might be into more for parts and damage than you could pick up another set for. Just my opinion, good luck, Dan
  5. I believe this may be a newer MK11 throttle cable hookup, as my MK1 has a long rectangular block, not a rotary. Cables come off the throttle (outside of the handlebar groove), around the front of the neck behind the air crossover hose, thru the oval cable hoop on the left side of the frame, then into the rectangular slider and then to the carbs. Hope this is what you were looking for. Dan Everybody secretly wishes they could rebuild and ride a MK1, only a few of us get to experience it!!! Good luck, you can do it!!
  6. Remove trunk, saddle bags, guard rails,, rear wheel, fender and inner fender. Then remove the sub-frame and pull your tank off. Just watch the hoses and wiring and you'll be fine.
  7. The banana/twinkie is the long, semi-round, tube lookin, cain't figur' out what that thing does, probably gonna start leakin sometime, always in the way, what a pain to hook-up silver device that sits in the valley of the cylinders. Just about every fluid your bike has runs through here, so look for it to start seeping when you replace your valve cover gaskets, side cover gaskets and everything else that leaks. Don't ask how I know!!!!!! Dan
  8. If Jeff comes thru here, I'll try my best to slow down to give him any messages he might need to get!!!! Dan
  9. That seems to be where the oil mist from the breather tube off the banana/twinkie always goes because thats the kickstand side. The goo will leak out around the air box-to-carb boots and coat your carbs, collecting the floaty stuff in the air. Learnin more stuff, aren't ya'!!!! Dan
  10. You still crack them open to bleed (1/8 - 1/4 turn) and then close them like a regular bleeder when you're done. I learnt you gotta use regular bleeders when your system is dry and you're just re-filling them, then put the speedbleeders in after you have fluid in there. Dan
  11. My navigator beats me on the head when I do this!!!! Dan
  12. The Navigator and I picked up new Scorpion EXO 200's. Love 'em to death. Quick change shields, comes with a visor and a clear shield. Around 150.00. Snell and DOT rated, which is why I bought it. Oh, liner is removeable and washable, pockets already for headsets, just a good overall brain bucket. Dan
  13. You can also check out www.flatoutmotorcycles.com , let them know in message that you're with VR.org. Dan
  14. Just slow load times here, late last nite after midnight (OK, closer to 1). THis m orning is better. Dan
  15. Not hard to tell which is Carb #1, huh? That slave cylinder looks like mine did. A dentists pick set (Harbor Freight) works great on cleaning out those grooves. Expect the calipers to look the same. Dan
  16. Probably checking it again.
  17. Dang, that's a shame, beautiful bike. Good luck on the rebuild. Dan
  18. I'm still on my way!!!! Don't eat all of it!!!! You'll have to do it for Dons next year!! Dan
  19. Could you drop them below the ring and then put the rings back on? Just a question/thought. Dan
  20. The wife and I picked up the EXO200's, takes 10 seconds to change out shields, comes with a visor and a clear shield for about 150. Has pockets for the headphones, great fit. We like them!!!! Dan
  21. I told you to bring me one of them bikes over last weekend Dan, I'm suffering thru withdrawal 'cause I'm done with mine!!!!!! Dan
  22. And it takes how long to get to Kearney from Indy???????? :whistling: Dan
  23. Thanks Cindy, tell Dale we all said Happy Fathers Day and we'll take a ride for him and You!!!! (Did you tell him you're getting a bike yet??? ) Dan
  24. I hung mine off the speedo cable loop on the front fender, I can hear it going down the road when I hit the bumps shakin' out all those gremlins!!! Dan
