On your front fender...... make sure you don't have any brake fluid leaks up there, will eat the plastic up overnite.... realize it could have been the "shock" of the shocks bottoming out, but still,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Another 2nd Gear Question(s)

If you go ahead and tear it down and replace the thrust washer and the split clip (the part that actually wears down) now, you won't ever have a problem. But, at the same time, I would replace all the orings and oil seals in there, as most of these cannot be replaced with the engine in the bike and the bottom 1/2 of the case on. Might as well replace the valve cover gaskets and the cover bolt rubbers, too, as you will need to sometime. Makes for a good winter project. -

Dang, sounds like the good stuff is going fast. Any chrome trim for the front fender or any other other trim pieces? How is the gold on the front winshield trim? If its in good shape I'd be interested. Dan

Swifty, if you could get a uhaul trailer with electric brakes and big enuff for your trailer and the bike, would probably be around 1500 pounds. Even if you get close enough south of the border, I'm sure we can get a relay going. Plenty of people twixt here and there. Just thinking----Squidley, Don, Pegscraper, mariner Fan, me. Thats Michigan to Indy. Not speaking for anyone else, of course. I'll be glad to head up the 26th if everyone still wants to go. Heck, I'll even mount your camera to my bike for ya, Bummer!!! Dan

Double D, I remember talking with you just before you left the hotel on Sunday morning, we got in late Saturday nite and up early (well, for me on a Sunday it was early!), but nobody would have done anything with one of us being there. I know about the thievery, the wind took my right lower fairing vent right off my bike on the way to Loudonville, OH over the weekend, didn't even know it was gone till we got there...... So, I'm in the market, too. Sorry about your loss, hopefully it was a local and no one from here. Dan

Sorry to hear about the lost brother, way too many ignorant cagers out there. We just went across to North Central Ohio from Indy (Mohican State Forest), took 36 all the way across and back (Friday and Sunday). Traffic was great, not busy. The Navigator doesn't want to do Freeways, and neither do I when someone is with me. Hope the rest of your trip goes well, have fun. Dan
