What, I can't have yours when it comes in? I really wish I could have ridden it. Gettin ready to go downtown for a little bit and see some of the bikes. I'll take pics and post them later. Dan
  8. Those are shorty RK (Road King) pipes that were on there when I got the bike. I now have stock factory mufflers on there with the chrome rear bumper. I still have tose pipes if somebody wants them. Mount up to factory hangers. Jeff, are your stripes hand-painted? Were they factory? Curious. Dan
  9. Nice post, MBrood, gives me something to use to chase down this phantom miss I've got. New wires and caps from Buckeye performance this past winter. I'll have to check out that "pull on the wire" thing. Could be it. Thanks a lot, Dan
  10. Hopefully someone on here has some pics of a close-up with the dash installed. It's almost a--"I took it apart" thing- to be able to put it back together. If'n I was there it would be pretty easy. When I took mine apart, I left the dash and wiring attached to the fairing sub-frame. I checked and I don't have any pics good enuff to help you. Dan
  11. If you can, you may need to pull apart the module these buttons are in and gently spray some contact cleaner in the buttons. Possible dirty contacts in there. Where is Chrisne IN? Dan (SE Indy)
  12. JT, all ya'll take care down there, careful of the missus. Call someone when you can and let us know how you came out. Dan
  13. You've got the standard factory pinstriping, mine has that plus the hand-painted custom pinstriping. Your bike has either been repainted or never seen the sun in its 24 years!!! That thing looks good! I do think you need the chrome rear bumper though. Mine looked unfinished till I got one. Now it looks fantastic!!! I like the chrome trim on the front fender, gonna get one one of these days.

Try one for yourself when you get out there, Steve. I would have really liked to have ridden it. Yammi got their other demos there (on the big blue truck) as we were leaving. Oh, got to meet Nicky Haydens mom and dad in their shop in Gasoline Alley. Look them up. Good story teller. Funny aside to that,,,, Nickys moms name- Rose----My wife-Rose sons name--both Nic(k) That's because you're too busy playing around on here all day at work, instead of figuring out ways to get out of there!!!!!!!!! They are still doing that Saturday night, Meridian south of Maryland down to the viaduct. May go check it out Sat. nite if weather is OK. Doubt it tho. It's a shame to have all this going on, and can't get to it!

To be honest, Bummer, kinda felt like I was sittin' on my IT400. Bar height from seat is about the same. Only thing I didn't like was the air tubes coming out so far. Held my knees out and uncomfortable for tank grabbing. Wish I could have taken it for a ride. Cerviperus, I live just 8 miles out on 74 from 465 on SE side. Exit 101 on 74. Maybe we can hook-up Sunday before you take off. We'll be leaving short afternoon for baseball if it's not rained out. I'll get your cellie # if it's on yur profile and give you a shout. Dan
  16. Welcome to the family, you must have been studying the rules! Nice pic! Someone will help you on the screws, my 1st genn is about 2 out from light bottom, not sure what yours should be. Good luck, Dan
  17. Welcome back to the "mortgage payin' blues" society, Fozzy!!!!
  18. My donation of $50 is coming over to you today, Brad. Maybe this will help kick start it again! I know we can do this, folks. A few bucks per is all we need!!! Bobbie needs a TAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dan
  19. No, the frame cracking was an 83 problem only, my 84 has extra gusset plates from the factory. I added two 3/8's rods as additional, along with solid Delrin motor mounts when I rebuilt mine this past winter. Remember, Yamaha probably didn't know what power would come out of this bike, and how people would operate it. Most all problems were cured by 85 for the redesign for 86 (detuned(altho slightly) engine? Diferent power curve?). Also, the MK1's were the engine of choice for the first VMaxxes. They didn't change this motor till the new 200 hp motor came out this year. MK1 engine cases are a favorite of the Max guys for a built up engine. MamaYama moves slow, but most of the time (sorry 2nd gennners ) she moves in a good direction. The company's base is in racing, sport and dirt bikes. Touring probably falls along with just filling out the product line to cover all the bases. JMHO Dan

Most definately worth the money, even if it rains. These guys are only a few seconds slower in a downpour than they are dry. I would be there if I didn't have other commitments. Couple pics from the Freestyle show tonite. These guys were jumping 75' on a street thats only 35' wide, no padding or anything. Tommy Clowers was there jumping. One guy did 3 consecutive back-flips. Tomorrow nite downtown they'll have the streetbike trick championships. If I wasn't announcing the Varsity football game at school, I'd be there. Like to say "Hey" to you this weekend Cervi, but pretty busy. Sunday morning I'll be home, tho! Till baseball in the PM, anyway. Oh, got a little something for the back of the bike, too.
  21. Anything that is 20+ years old is going to have some issues, got a 65 Corvair and a 79 Camaro sitting in the driveway that need WAY more work than my Venture. But I wouldn't hesitate to jump on it and take it a 1000 miles for a ride. How good do YOU feel for your age? LOL Dan
  22. Hey, you guys can come up here!!!!!!! Wait,,,,,,,,, we're gonna get your rain. Stay home. Skinny Squidley

Got to spend about 4 hours out there today, time constraints did not allow longer time (D**N). Gonna be a great weekend, even if it rains. Taking the boy up to the Red Bull TNT Freestyle MX up in Broad Ripple tonite. HEY, YOU VMAX HEADS-----EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT!!!!! They have 3 VMax's out there for TEST RIDES!!! Time ran out or I was gonna get one...........
