Squeeze might want to jump on that. Would they fit a MK1? Not that I would want to do it, I think you would have to do more, maybe valves, etc. Dan

Good job Dan, glad you got that monster under leash again. Just don't forget to hold onto that leash and just let a little bit out at a time! Happy you got to get out today. More than I've been able to do! But I've been having fun hot-rodding my kids 79 Camaro, so its a good trade! Dan

See Squid, I do have SOME friends around here....... He just happens to live 6000 miles away........... Thanks Squeeze, owe ya one! And don't worry Swifty, guys like us are always around when they're needed. Matter of fact, we're usually the first ones there! You know, kinda like a husband and Dad! Don't want us around, always get the cr*p jobs, never get appreciated................

Need some Brake info 1200cc Venture
Dano replied to Squidley's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thought you was talkin' bought me for a second there, Brad! My opinion(for what it's worth!), remember the front left and rear are linked. You need to go thru both, clean and restore the master and reservoir with fresh fluid in both systems. The MK1's are a PAIN to bleed the front brake after it's been drained. Make sure to pull the pistons and renew with seals, etc. There will be old "carmelized" fluid in there that you'll have to scrape out. PIA, but they work alot better after you've done this. For the board---- is it possible to replace the block on the neck with a block that has a bleeder fitting? Has it been done before? Will a MK11 fit there? Inquiring minds want to know? Thanks, Dan -
And to all our Canadian brothers and sisters, Happy St. Andrews Day coming up this Sunday! Dan

Where do I find a set to fit the 7/8ths guards on my 1st gen? Or do they make a shim for the 1" mounts? Dan

Glad to hear of another dealer stepping up and helping out one of our brothers! Also glad to hear you didn't get a road rash out of it! Dan

Dang Carl, looks like you been visiting Frogman with all those water drops on your bike!! You sure you haven't been imitating those KTM and BMW's we see in those ads crossing the creeks?! I've got the Bad Boy on mine, saved my butt more than once! Might just add one for the left side! Dan

I have read most of the "political" threads, whether they be about actual politics, the economy or Harley bikes. Very seldom do I post to these, as I tend to keep my opinion to myself or face to face encounters (well, except for the 1st/2nd gen thing!). Expression of ideas and the pursuant dialog on that subject is one of the inalienable rights of this country, but it is usually done in the correct forum. I agree with our "founding father" and our most wise and "well-rounded" moderator "The Squidley" and the rest of the Originals when they voted to not allow political discussion to be rampant on this great site. I have met some life-long friends and acquaintances on here, and would like it to remain that way. I mean, how can you find friends in Germany, Iceland, Australia and New Guinea, help them to get parts, advice, or just talk through emails about whats going on in their life? I cetainly don't get that thru other sites. And a few laughs thrown in along the way! So, getting off of my soapbox, lets keep it true to the founders wishes, and control the urges when it happens! Dan

Wait on our resident Vmax guru Squeeze, and he'll let us know. Less than 30 bucks apiece, pretty good, me thinks. Dan -

HMMMMMMM, I can see a contest coming up at MD this year............ Cheesecake or Rhubarb pie???? Name your poison, boys! The game is on!!

BTW Brad, us "skinny guys" have the same amount of stomach, it's just all that extra "leftovers" that we don't have to carry around. We're generally moving around and getting more done than youse guys that have to "let the belt out a notch" after a meal........ Keeps those quarter-mile times down, you know! I will guarentee you, for a good, fresh rhubarb pie, I would ride like a "pond-monster" up to MiCarls just to enjoy it!

Dano replied to krotchrocketgrampa's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Sorry if I ruffled your feathers there Lynn. Was mearly making a comment on his screen name. Doesn't bother me if he wants to go with pegs, I myself find them quite comfortable. I wish him luck in his endeavor.- 6 replies

Easiest way to check output of the regulator is at the battery. The manual has a way to check ohms in the regulator, been awhile since I did that. Just check DC voltage at the battery, should be 13.5 or higher with the engine at 2500 rpm. Any lower rpm and the stator does not develop enuff juice. You will need to replace the regulator with a 5 wire if that's what you have. Dan
