Im running metzlers on my 86 venture , im wondering what air pressure you guys run them at ? I run mostly one up once in a while I ride two up . thnx

I have a magazine from 1986 when they tested the 86 venture and they report 60 mph is 3200 pm and with my bike 3200 is about 56-57 this is why im thinking I have a max rear drive ,and I have gone by one of those your speed things also and I was not on power, i was holding steady throttle and my speed is on the money . as for tires im running metzler me888 front and rear . this is why I wish there is a mark or a mold difference between the max and venture rear drives , oh well I guess I have what I have right ? thnx for all of the replies guys Mike

I have an 86 venture and I'm kind of thinking I have a vmax final drive but I'm not sure , so I went out and made sure of rpm's . At 55 it spins at 3000 rpm and 60 is 3500 rpm's and at 75 it's 4500. I've read that the max final will raise rpm's 350 to 500 . I wish there was a distinguishing mark or shape to look for on the final drive . Thnx for your help . Thnx Mike

I have a 1986 venture and I'm looking for some after market mufflers that bolt on or slip on as we would have it . I don't want it sounding like an open piped harley but I would like them to go to the end of my saddle bags or close to it . Any suggestions are appreciated . Thnx Mike

I'll check the cylinders I'm also thinking stage 1 jet kit for a vmax. ..what's your guys thoughts on this?

Reading some of this is funny other parts are depressing , I was hoping to put some newer gen 2 stuff on my gen 1

Thanks guys , the guy I bought it from in December said the valves were done recently. ..yes I am back firing thru the carbs ......I've ran 3 cans of sea foam thru the bike in the last two in a half weeks ...The air box is easy repairable ......any more ideas would be great. ....

I've been having problems with backfire thru the carbs so I did alot of reading and most say pilot screw is lean so I went 4 turn and then 5 a little better. My question is why do I have to be out so far on my pilot setting? I should mention it has a k&n air filter and the box top has been opened up quite a bit and the stock mufflers have been opened up also Thanks Mike

I'm wondering if anyone knows what parts will interchange between the two like rear swing arms and front triple tree , etc . Thnx Mike
