Are the electrical connections different?

So I can use a 1300 block and use the carbs and electronics from the 1200.

I have an '83 with a broken head bolt and all that goes with it. I am going to replace the complete engine and am contemplating using a later 86-93 1300. My question is obviously, will the 1300 just bolt up in place of the 1200?
