Battery Tender is the way to go if you're going to park the bike for more than a week or two. It even has this spiffy little plug-in that you put on the battery so you never have to take the seat off to charge it. Something else you can do is to install the cigarette lighter for the passenger and solder a plug onto tender, then you just plug the charger into the cig lighter.

Put up some solar panels and some batteries and get an electric heater. Initial setup is kinda pricey, but then it's FREE!!!

Cut a slit in the rubber on the bottom of the radiator cap and let it vent off the pressure instead of building it up. It won't hurt the engine as long as you're not towing. I wouldn't put any of that "fix-a-leak" crap in a motor. It settles in the radiator in the coils.

Just picked up the new (to me) bike

The Venture doesn't have a choke, it has a "cold engine, fuel enrichment" system. When you pull the knob labeled like a choke, it actually opens up an extra fuel passage and dumps more fuel in the engine. -

Also, when you buy something after getting info off the forum, you then forfeit ownership of said item anytime another member needs to use said item. It's state law, look it up.

I would of bought one of these if I had known about them before I built my Harbor Freight trailer. The PiggyBack is twice the trailer over the Harbor Freight one.

There are no "gun show loopholes" . Have you ever been to a gun show? They are dealers selling to people and to purchase a firearm, they have to do a background check. My last gun was bought at a gun show and I had to go through a background check. I don't know where all these gun shows are that allow dealers to sell to anybody with the NCIS check. This is the 2nd time you've mentioned Virginia Tech and this time it has absolutely ZERO relevance. He did not buy his guns from a gun show, he bought them through a dealer and he passed the NCIS background check because Virginia Techs counselors and president did not want to turn him in because they did not wish to tarnish their reputation. I don't know what your fascination is with the Virginia Tech shooting is. It has nothing to do with this topic.

Virginia Tech's blood is on the hand of the Faculty that runs that place. It doesn't matter if he had a history of mental illness with the school if the school doesn't report it to the authorities. Instead, they were worried about their image and not the student's safety. He had been turned in for stalking by many girls, yet the school chose to handle it internally and miserably failed. He should of been turned into the police instead where he then would of had a public record of mental problems and it would of came up on the NCIS check and he would of been denied the sale of the gun. The Dealer did nothing wrong, the laws were not wrong, THE SCHOOL WAS WRONG FOR BEING WORRIED ABOUT THEIR IMAGE AND NOT REPORTING HIM!!!!

I had some cheapy replacement grips on my bike when I bought it. I removed em and went back to the factory grips and weights. The buzzing killed my hands.

My very basic understanding is that you take a complete electrically drained battery and do a reverse charge. This can cause all the crap that's built up on the lead plates to come off. You then clean the battery out by draining the acid and refill with fresh and it gives new life to an old battery. It's a lot of work and LEGAL disposal of the sulphuric acid can be a pain in butt. If you used very large expensive batteries, it would most likely be a viable solution, but for standard automotive and motorcycle batteries, new ones with warranties are cheaper. Once again, that's just a very, very, very, simplified, basic overview from my understanding and is not 100 percent correct.

You probably have more dope around you then most of us!! Though they are prescription.

I don't think that I'd wanna put the good gun in the steam with the hot tub. Slight rust problem may develop.

I am a former inmate of Illinois. I moved out almost 5 years ago. I know all about the illegal FOID card. Yep, it's a good thing that Chicago has all those gun laws and banned handguns for the law abiding citizen. Made it one of the safest cities in the country to be in!!!

We used one when we had a tech day here in Amarillo. I don't which model it was but it lifted all of our bikes with no problems. The only things I would change would be to change out the front wheel chock with an automatic one and add some sort of place to put your feet while sitting on the bike. I'm 6 ft tall and could not reach with both feet. Luckily Obber is taller than myself and he had the privilege to mount all bikes on the ramps while everyone else tied the bike down.

Illinois and Wisconsin are the only 2 states in the Union that do not offer any kind of a concealed/carry permit. Some states are almost impossible to get a permit without paying off the local sheriff, such as California, New York, and Massachusetts.

That damn evil gun. He shoulda had a little class and just cut his ear off and mailed it to her!! Works every time.

I wouldn't waste my time drilling out the RSV mufflers. You think they sound bad now, drilling em out makes em sound like a mouse farting in a coffee can, seriously.... I have heard unaltered Roadking/electraglide/ultraclassic/roadglide mufflers on the RSV and it is a definite improvement over stock mufflers. They are not louder, but deeper toned. You won't have any carb problems because almost all of your back pressure will be coming from the head pipes and not the mufflers.

All the gas in one area comes out of the same pipe. Here in Amarillo, fuel comes from 1 of 2 places. All gasoline products come from the Valero outlet north of town. Diesel fuel either comes from the Valero outlet or off the rail cars along Ross St. It's all the same fuel around here.
