Harley has 49 state "legal" aftermarket pipes now and Hard Krome offers "legal" aftermarket pipes for Metrics as well. They are called Vortaxx or Rec-Tec I believe. http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524448768479&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309244813&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374309244813&bmUID=1213876591942&bmLocale=en_US

I do believe I would be finding a new job if the HR manager is that big of a ***** and if this went to court, I would subpoena her butt right into court and she can explain to the judge why she is withholding evidence.

Caught on tape: Motorcyclists acting like idiots.
flb_78 replied to Mariner Fan's topic in Watering Hole
Yeah, those douche bags have been doing that around Dallas and Houston for a while now. Luckily, they don't do that around Amarillo yet. Too many bar ditches to dump bodies in after you scrape them off the cattle pusher around here!!!- 3 replies

Tire Valve Stems
flb_78 replied to FROG MAN's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
That white chalky stuff is aluminum oxide. No way to stop it unless you paint or polish your wheels inside and out. Next set of tires, install new stems or at least new grommets. -

Better and brighter Head light
flb_78 replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I installed the Silverstar bulb as well. You can definitely tell a difference. If I'm riding with another motorcycle and we stop behind another vehicle, I can the difference in the 2 headlights in the reflection of the vehicle in front of us. Also, if you have your driving lights wired in the way Yamaha says to do, then you will decrease the light output of the headlight. I just turned my driving lights off and run on high beam all the time. I turn on the driving lights and the headlight dims. You may want to pull up to a garage door or white wall and turn the driving lights off and on to check the headlight output. -
BTW... Don't let TXtoSturgis see this thread!! DONT LOOK BRIAN!!!

I understand MuffinMan rode your bike with the CT on. I'd like to hear his opinion on how it rode.

I don't think they will detune the new Max motor. I believe the Venture will be gone as we know it and the "NEW" Venture will be based on the Stratoliner and be more like a Harley.

My last motorcycle tire was a Metzler, made in the Fatherland. I had no problems with it, I even had a plug in it. I ran it at 50psi.

I bet the dealer warrantied it, not BFG. I know we warrantied many tires for "customer satisfaction" and then fought with the tire company to do a partial reimbursement.

I hope you went into the Yamaha Shop at exit 159 in Effingham. They carry a lot of stuff. Last time I was in there, they even had Diamond R stuff hanging on the wall for sale.

You're lucky to get any tire manufacturer to warranty any tire.

It used to be called Honda Polish, but Honda lost the contract, now it's just called spray cleaner and polish. Also, Plexus also works very well. http://classicchemical.com/classic_chemical004004.jpg http://www.mypilotstore.com/mypilotstore/pics/products/1150.jpg

Ive never gotten 10,000 miles on a rear tire. Im not even sure I'll get 10 out of the BFG. But I like to think I ride my 2nd gen a little harder then most.

I would probably mix them. I don't use motorcycle oil though. I use John Deere 15w40 right now because I can get it at a really, really good price. I also use an automotive filter, Purolator PureOne PL14610. Rated as the best filter that will fit most Yamahas and Hondas. http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Filters.html#OilFilters
