That's because your dealer doesn't stock those and is trying to clear out some inventory that he has in stock. Most likely.

RSTD 2005 with 107,000 miles???
flb_78 replied to RSTDinFL's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
If you can get them to put a Avon or Dunlop E3 on the rear for $3500, that would be an OK deal I think. -

I bet that's a Dunlop 404 and not the much better Dunlop E3. I wouldn't be worried about the internals of the engine or transmission. -

I got the dealer link to work. Looks like he left the accessories on it. Just no driving lights or rack. That looks like a decent radio on there as well. If they were to at least put a rear tire on and PROPERLY service the splines and final drive....It would close to what they're asking. -
RSTD 2005 with 107,000 miles???

He may have pulled off the add-ons since a dealer doesn't give anything on trade for them. Also, it's too much for that bike. $1500 lower than a regular mileage machine. $400 for a rear tire I don't even want to guess what a dealer would charge to flush the fluids. That $1500 savings is going to disappear real quick to get the bike road worthy again. If the dealer were to service it, new tires, neck bearings, yada yada yada, Maybe, but as-is, no. -
It's just a standard RSTD.

how to lift a bike with a floor jack?
flb_78 replied to Brake Pad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I just plop the bike up on the centerstand to check all that stuff. -
I should considering I only live about 45 miles away from MIDRSV.

Ive already changed how I drive my car and gained 5 miles per gallon. Hopefully it warms up and washes all the salt off the road and I'll be able to ride and save even more. I have a 50 mile commute everyday.

I as well will pledge to not buy new pontoon boats or new cars... Mainly because I can't afford one and I don't borrow money....

Looks like good old PCW Racing makes a chain setup for Mr. Max. http://www.pcwracing.net/page2.htm

As I project bike, I could see a purpose. There's a lot of horses being eaten up by the shaft drive. I think it was be relative easy to find a conversion for a V-max unit and use it to convert a Royal Star.

Im lovin' it. This is only my 2nd week with it, but last weekend I smoked up a bunch of ribs that came out excellent. It makes the best tasting burger Ive ever had off a grill. You just have to remember that it's indirect heat, so it takes about twice as long to grill on it compared to a standard grill. But as a smoker, it's great, just set the temperature and walk away. You don't have to sit there and play with the fire to keep a proper temperature. I found mine used on Craigslist for half the price of a new one.

2lbs of sausage wrapped in bacon and given a good dry rub tossed on the Traeger for a little over 2 hrs. I also have some boneless pork ribs and a turkey leg still on the Traeger finishing up. I smoked my first ribs last weekend and they turned out excellent. Im liking my new grill/smoker!!

I agree with Mexico. They should build a fence to keep out American guns. American guns belong in the hands of American citizens. We need to stop the American Government from smuggling guns into Mexico.

You could thread the inside of them and tell every one you have a set of brass nuts.

Where to get Rear Disk ?
flb_78 replied to Mike G in SC's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Just judging by ebay, there are used ones around $40 plus shipping and EBC replacements for $142 with free shipping. I'd be more inclined to go with a new EBC over a used one at that price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/99-10-YAMAHA-XVZ-1300-Royal-Star-Venture-S-EBC-Rear-Oem-Fit-Brake-Rotor-MD2078-/200650762298?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eb7b7a83a&vxp=mtr- 4 replies

Where to get Rear Disk ?
flb_78 replied to Mike G in SC's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
You could probably buy a used wheel with a rotor off a trike conversion cheaper than just buying a rotor. Could you post pics of your rotor. My Venture has 106,000 and I think the rotor looks fine and I use the rear brake quite a bit as well.- 4 replies

The fuel is escaping out the exhaust pipes. Weld the holes shut and I bet that you'll never run out of gas again.

Looks like Williamstown in Grant County got hit by something.

I was outside cleaning the gutters out on the west side of my house while it was hailing.

Yup, I'll pretty much echo what was said above. A charger will charge even if the battery is fully charged. It will cook a battery. A Battery Tender, or battery maintainer can be left hooked up. Once the battery is charged, it will shut itself off or lower the amperage down automatically to keep from cooking the battery. I personally have a Schumacher Battery Maintainer from the Evil Empire of Walmart. It was around $20.
