I wonder if they would have been liable for damages to your equipment if you had not been as observant.

I didn't realize that Avon Venoms were considered darkside tires now. I was in Joplin, MO on my Roadstar, 2 up pulling a trailer on a Sunday afternoon. Stopped at the Petro while riding from Effingham, IL to Amarillo, TX. While checking the bike out, I found that the rear tire had worn down to the cords. We hotelled it for the night. In the morning, I called all the bike shops in Joplin to find they were all closed. Talked to some Petro employees and found out there was a Harley shop at the next exit. I rode up there and dug through their used tire pile out back and found a decent replacement. Went back to the hotel and changed the tire in the parking lot.:cool10:

Oil the rubber seal and just barely hand tight. Easily removed at the next change.

You are surrounded by some good people.

I think the Barnett is the way to go in the long run. The wavy diaphragm style springs are going to lose tension faster than the coils. When you did the clutch last time, did you replace the fiber discs as well or just install the new spring and replace the half disc with a full?

Here you can buy the light for $203, shipping was another $12 to my house according to their shipping estimator. http://www.drivetrainamerica.com/p-15587-truck-lite-27270c-led-7-highlow-headlamp-ph7.aspx

Considering these were built for military use originally, I wouldn't worry about the "temp range" too much. Low beam only uses 23 watts. 12.8v @ 1.8amps. Also, most HID lights are not D.O.T. approved, where as this LED is.

Are they taking your photo to advertise "Hey! Look at all of our happy employees!!" or is it "These are our employees, if you see someone other than a person on this board in a Transit Auth. uniform, please report it immediately"

I have a Fluke at work. I also had a couple of the cheapy Harbor Freight ones to do amperage draw tests. The $3 Harbor Freight meter is cheaper than replacing the $10 fuse inside the Fluke.

You can be stopped and cited for it.

Hmm..Maybe that's where all the oil in the gulf came from?

It'd probably be easier to replace the valve seals.

Air filter box. There's one on each side.

Lower final drive ratio. Higher RPM's. Easier take off. Easier to pull a trailer. Easier to haul a passenger. Not a direct bolt on. You can either buy one that has been redone. You can buy one and drill the hole for the speed sensor yourself and hope you do not ruin the case.

The giant refrigerated warehouses are cooled with anhydrous ammonia. A friend of mine went through training on becoming a service tech to work on those units. Now as to why does the automotive industry use proprietary, patented chemicals from Dow Industries, well, you'd probably have to ask Congress about that. It seems that about the time that a U.S. patent runs out, some giant megacorp happens to have the next greatest thing and Congress agrees that the old stuff is dangerous and must be phased out.

R22 is being replaced with R410 in household units R12 was replaced with R134a and now that's being replaced with R1234. Propane, butane and anhydrous ammonia are far superior coolants than any of the above. I once charged my Buick with propane. After drawing a vacuum, it took 5oz of propane to get the proper pressures for the system to work.

Is it that time again already? Guess the next Venture? Well, I'll stick with my original thought. It's going to be based on the Roadliner/Stratoliner series. The Stratoliner Deluxe already has the front fairing, speakers and Ipod hookup. Throw a trunk on it and some removable lowers and there's the next Venture.

Bubber, small claims is much different than criminal court. Small claims, best story wins. Criminal, beyond a shadow of a doubt. I served on a jury once. Felony, drugs, multiple arrests, paroles, yada yada yada... We ended up sending him away for 40 years. Luckily my employer at the time payed for jury duty.
