  1. You're a polishin' fool, Jeff. I got something that could use a good polish job. http://www.caringfriends.hk/typo3temp/pics/5f78740a6a.jpg
  2. Sounds more like a loose or corroded electrical problem than a fuel problem. Maybe a faulty switch somewhere. While the bike is idling, try moving the key around to see if maybe the ignition switch is starting to go bad.
  3. Is it dieing like just hitting the kill switch or is it sputtering a bit before it dies? Are you having to use the choke at all to start it? If not, what happens is you do engage the choke and start it?
  4. Next time it dies, remove the fuel cap and see if there is a vacuum in the tank. If there is, what brand is it? Hoover, Dyson, Electrolux? That was dumb, anywho, if there is a vacuum in the tank, most likely, the filter on the end of the tank vent is plugged up, or the tank vent line may be pinched. Have you had the tank off recently? If there's no vacuum, your fuel pump could be dieing and running part of the time.
  5. I just wear the liner separately under the jacket.
  6. The drive shaft is probably still OK. The oil seal is holding the cup on the shaft. You'll probably have to put the cup in a vise and pull the shaft out of it. Other than that, it's scrap metal.
  7. Condor, The FJR and the RSV drive shafts are different lengths.
  8. Ouch, you managed to break off the end of the pinion shaft. I bet that made a hell of a racket!
  9. Im sorry to say that there is not one available to fit the front as far as we know.
  10. I went from an XL clearview to a shorty shield and gained a little fuel mileage.

This was an advertisement for Gillete razors. http://www.snopes.com/photos/advertisements/longoria.asp
  12. Thank you for the updates, friend of Tom. Fuzzy, I would guess that mvc is a multi-vehicle collision. I hate hearing about these accidents this late in the season.
  13. Trip meter and clock resetting are signs of a bad battery, voltage drops so low while cranking that the bike loses memory.
  14. Sounds like the tank vent is plugged up and the vent is built into the cap if I remember correctly. Next time it acts like it's trying to die, remove the fuel cap and see if it's more better.
  15. You may need to take a water hose to the condensor and evaporator and clean all the dust, dirt and animal fur out of the coils. Sounds like 1 of them was plugged up and caused the compressor to shut off. If there's no air flow over the condensor, the high side pressure will skyrocket and if the evaporator has no air flow, the evaporator will freeze up and the low side pressure could actually draw itself into a vacuum.
  16. I like the looks of that. Nice dark low shield for around town, twist a couple nuts, raise the shield up and take off down the highway.
  17. Really? It's better than anything I could ever do! I thought it was quite excellent!! Damn perfectionist.
  18. It might be easiest, if no one needs it right right now, to just mail it back to you Bob. USPS flat rate box is only $5 or so.
  19. Plenty of folks are using the Rotella T6 with no problems. It's only available in 5w40.
  20. That tool is perfect for fork work on the 43mm forks, as 1 side is used for driving in the oil seals and the other is used for driving in the dust seals. 2 tools in 1!!
  21. People have been writing checks for years and all of that information is stupid easy to get through a public records search. Im pretty sure that to get a loan, you have to supply a valid Social InSecurity number, you know that number that was only ever going to be used for access to an account and never as a National Identification Card? So unless they can get ahold of that as well, the only way they'll be able to borrow any money is if the lender "bypasses" any requirements and then it puts the burden of proof on them that you were actually the one who borrowed the monies. Also, you can put an alert on all 3 of your credit scores which will require any potential lenders to personally contact you before allowing any monies to be borrowed against your Social InSecurity number.
  22. I have everyone's signatures blocked. They all offended me.
  23. You made my feeling hurt.
  24. the 1157NA is a natural amber bulb instead of being painted glass. I found this page on 1157 vs 2057 vs 2357 which are all interchangeable. http://faq.f650.com/FAQs/BrakeLight.htm Supposedly, the standard 1157 is the longest lasting.
  25. My knees are crunchy enough without repeated abuse. I'll be fat and happy and die when Im 60 instead of decrepit and incontinent and living in nursing home at 80.
