The forecast for Denver is calling for snow this week. The highs are ranging from 50 - 70 and the lows are below freezing. I'd ride. http://www.wunderground.com/US/CO/Denver.html

Yep, the Honda EVO 6 is the 1800 Goldwing motor is a sportish style frame. I bet it'd be a blast to ride.

That's why I do damn near all my own work. I even mounted my own tires on the RoadStar. I still need to build an adapter for the RSV.

I'm using the best oil filter on the market. Purolater Pure One PL14610. Get em at Advanced Auto for 6 bux. "This is how an oil filter should be made. The anti-drainback valve is double the thickness of any other here, and obviously seals very well. The media is the best available, and there's a lot of it. The bypass valve is made from a laser-cut piece of stainless steel, and just can't bind or jam." I believe that all the Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha filters are made by Denso and are all the same. I'll just keep using the Pure One filters. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15162&highlight=purolator I never had a problem personally with Fram filters. Ran em on my Roadstar until I read up on the Pure One filters.

I guess it's just too much trouble to drop a gear and rev the engine a little to make the "chirp" go away.

In my roadstar's transfer case and in the rear end of my RSV, I use Mobil 1 75w90 synthetic oil.

I think the Venture is the kind of bike that you know you want. Advertising it would just be a waste of money and raise the price of the bike.

Me thinks that you'll be disappointed with the capacity. I think you'd be happier with the Stratoliner leather covered bags.

Sweetness day? what a load. just another way for us men to disappoint you women.

do you mean it is barely disengaging and the bike jumps when it goes into gear? or do you mean that it slips when you try to give it gas?

Im want to raise my bike. I hit floorboards and mufflers in turns bad enough already and Ive got the baron's pipes which are half the size of the stockers. Im glad lowering the bike works for you, but for big ass, it'd be a deathwish.

I had a Roadstar for 3 years and put 40,000 miles on it. Got tired of the big twin shake and belt drive. I ride my bike everywhere. The Venture suits me just fine, but I like the radio and full fairing for when it gets below freezing. I bought my Venture used at the beginning of June and have put almost 10,000 miles on since.

Like to ask Question on weight
flb_78 replied to JOE MCDERMOTT's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
the passenger seat is quite high and it seems to magnify the weight of the passenger. I know on my Roadstar it wasnt too bad, but the first day I had the Venture, I dropped it with her on it. -

you probably need to run a ground off the antenna. I wouldnt worry about it too much if it's only coming through the CB. It's not like you're driving around blaring the horn.

Tire change detail questions
flb_78 replied to Venturing Sole's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You should not have to remove the rotors to change a tire. When you start taking the rotors off and on, there's a chance they'll warp. Also, the rotor bolts are usually a pain in the ass to remove without damaging the heads. I would not remove the rotors. Find a tire shop that specializes in motorcycle tires. Also, put RIDE-ON in the tires. Bestest thing you can do for them. It will balance the tire and prevent leaks. -
Is this a complete exhaust or just slip-ons? As far as I know, Baron's only makes slip-ons. If it's a complete exhaust including head pipes, then yes, you'll need to rejet. If it is just slip-ons, then no, no rejetting will be required.

I ate my chips, but then again, I didn't get my lovely figure by not eating!!!

That's the problem, there are no supervisors, just some high school grad who can almost change tires. Not many are trained. I learned it on motorcycles by doing it myself and knowing that if I goofed up, I was probably going to end up dead in a ditch somewhere. I learned how to work on cars and semis in school.
