  1. Need one? Got the rear wheel & tire off of my 05. After triking the bike don't need it. Larry
  2. 9 am from my house which will put us at 23/ N. Territorial rd - Sunoco station at 9:30am We should get to Owosso about 11am give or take 15-20 minutes for Karl and Swifty meeting us there.
  3. Figured you would as that makes more sense as it's a short hop from you.
  4. Which way you plan on coming across the border? Do you intend on joining up for the start or intercepting the group? We'll probably meet at the Sunoco station on corner of N. Territorial & 23 at 9:30am. And if you want you could meet us either in Owosso or Ionia as one of the two towns will be our lunch stop. Will decide which later.
  5. Thanks for the input guys. Much appreciated here. I'll look it over more later today. Larry
  6. Taking a vote here on what ya all want in the way of lunch on the way up and probably going home as well? Fast food as in Wendy's. Arby's. Mickey D's. Taco Bell., etc or a sit down restraunt in the family type or perhaps a coney place? Larry
  7. We plotted a route to & from while you & Jeannie were test riding the CanAm's last week. I tweaked it a bit and gave the info to Joe who's going to check it over for any more fine tuning.
  8. Not yet as we're still waiting to see who all intends on coming. For you I'd say my place as I'm just 3 miles from I-94/Metro-Airport. You'll have to go past here to whever we do decide to meet anyhow. Larry
  9. :rotf::rotf: No I'm not, but you dropped your credit card at lunch Sunday.... Thanks for the room :rotf::rotf:
  10. You better wouldn't want ya sleeping outside:rotf:
  11. Done
  12. We'll be working on those type of details now that we have a plan and lodging taken care of. Called in our reservations today as well. Larry
  13. Ok hotel will be Days Inn in Ludington. We have blocked 10 rooms under Venture Riders group at $42 + tax per room. Each attendee will have to call in the reservation at 231-843-2233. Also if a cancellation is needed you can cancel up to 24 hrs before being charged. Oh one more thing the reservations need to be in by Oct 1st for this rate. Come on folks it won't get any better then this. We should arrive early enough to get lodged in and then head to the lake shore to watch the sunset. Larry
  14. After playing phone and PM tag tonight with Joe, we think we've narrowed down a hotel. Tomorrow night we should know more as the manager is going to call Joe for info/rates on blocks of rooms. Stay tuned Larry
  15. quote: There is an additional wire coming from the led and the wiring diagram shows this as a "maker light", then with a different wire as the "turn signal". I connected this marker light wire to my parking light wire on the bike, nothing. If I hook the turn signal wire to the bikes parking light wire, then both LED's light up very bright.:quote Maybe the wires are mismarked and need switchin? Generally the parking lights are dimmer and the when the turn signal is applied they turn brighter. Just a thought to check out. Larry
  16. Front turn /parking lights are dual filaments. If the Doss lights are single filaments then that could be the problem. Not familar with the lights so just guessing here on my part. Larry
  17. That why you leave em alone. Larry
  18. Your plan looks good to me with one expection and that being the fuse size for the horns. With the Stebel horns I've found that a 15 amp fuse is borderline and will blow from power surges thus I provide a 20 amp in my wiring harness I sell. Now the Stebels may draw more current then the horns you'll be using but with 4 of them in your plans it may balance out the same. No matter try the 15 amp fuse and if that blows just bump up to the 20 amp and you'll be good to go. Larry
  19. We'll still be here when you get caught up with you guys getting back to "normal" (?) life. LOL Ya it can be some work readjusting to that but being able to look back on your summer travels is sure to bring back a flood of memories for you guys. Glad you had a safe & enjoyable journey while in this land we call home. Larry
  20. Rick, like others have said I'm glad to hear you telling us this story rather then thru someone else. Thou your injuries are semi serious be very thankfull they weren't worse and that you had your gear on. More importantly a helmet. Even being on a trike now, I have found that while extremely stable on wet roads, the front tire can and will slip & slide if braking too much on blacktop early in the rains. The middle of the lane doesn't get the oils flushed off quite as fast as the tire sections do from cages driving thru them. So one must always be cautious & as you have come to realize it only takes a second or so to get into trouble. Heal well, Larry
  21. Ok Joe & I worked out a route to & from the Ludington & Mainitee area from our area in south east Mi. We're currently checking out hotels for the two towns looking for a decent deal. Trip is being planned for Oct 8th & 9th. We'll switch to Oct 15-16 if weather is bad. Leaving Saturday morning and returning Sunday evening using mostly country roads to avoid freeways as much as possible. It'll should be under 300 miles / 6+ hours with breaks and lunch each way & using a different route each way to boot. Some will most likely meet us there (west coaster) and some could be meet along the way. We'll pick a meet spot for Saturday morning once we see who is all going, trying to locate it for the best of all attending. What we need now is a head count on who plans on going so we might be able to book a block of rooms at reasonable rates. I'll run a ongoing head count here--- 1. Joe 2. Joyce & I 3. Jay & Jeannie (Ragtop 69GS) 4. KarlS 5. Carlos (Calperin) maybe 6. Adventure 08 (John) Tailgunner 7. Randy & Mary (Richardracing) 8. Mike (Capt'n_Quirk) 9. Don & Deanna (Sach57) 10. Mike & Karen -- Jay's friends 11. another couple of Jay's friends 12. Mike Szama 13. Al & Diane (maybe) Thanks, Larry
  22. By then you'll be all rusted up like the 1st gens. No go:stirthepot:
  23. Hoping you'll have good news soon Dan. Hope the Docs can find what ails her. Till then will keep her & you in our thoughts. Larry
  24. The odds are you'll see more 2nd gens mainly cause the 1st gens are in parts thus fewer of them on the roads. As to the bikes having Florida tags that says it all as well. After all it's a retirees state last I looked so you're going to get older riders owning them. Larry
  25. Where at Jay? Might meet ya there. Larry
