  1. Sounds interesting to me. Even a day ride to say a cider mill would be good. Saturday and Sunday show mid to upper 60* temps but there is a chance of showers both days. When & how much doesn't show yet on http://www.accuweather.com/us/mi/wayne/48184/forecast-details.asp?fday=6 Larry
  2. Thanks to all who was able to atend our ride this weekend. Without you being there it wouldn't be as much fun. As always it's great to meet new folks from the board as well as old friends. I put on just shy of 600 miles over the weekend. Some did more, some less but all were good miles with near perfect weather. Some of those roads had been a long time for me to have been on so it was refreshing to see those areas again. Tree colors were at a good peak too. Made for nice senic riding, especialy along some of the country lanes we were on. Had a good time on the beach, saw the Badger car ferry come in , a lad catching some nice sized fish, and watching the sun set. In Dublin there was a cool bike a fellow was riding too. Country roads were awesome with color. Larry
  3. It's great to see another international guest enjoying our country. Larry
  4. For my trike I went with a rear tire mounted in the normal direction. My prefence was for the thread pattern to shed water in the normal way. I used a Dunlop 404. Larry
  5. Home at 6pm. Will post more later. larry
  6. Nice relaxing ride today. 275 miles total from home to the hotel. Tomorrow will be much of the same with a different route going home. Larry

  11. Mike Szama is already in Ludington today. Reports the rooms are nice, the weather perfect, and he'll see us when we get there. Lucky dog had a long weekend so got the jump on us. Larry
  12. Since converting the bike into a 3 wheeler I haven't had anything like this happen. Even the cages seem to be more aware of that big ass behind me . Still one can never let their guard down and as Buddy Rich says you must always have your situational awareness on full alert. Larry
  13. Currently 10 riders committed with 1 already up there. Also 4 maybes still on the list , page 2 post #25 Larry
  14. Carl you gonna share your newfound wealth with us here at VR? A couple hundred grand to each of us would be nice and you'd still have loads left. Ya right We be dreaming again. Larry
  15. You'd think another motorcyclest would know better, especialy a curiser/touring type. Goes to show that it's not the bike but the rider behind the bars. Guess he had to be somewhere else in a hurry?? Have had a couple kids on the rockets pass in my lane in the past before too. First it rattles you then p**ses you off. Larry
  16. Joe & I will be meeting at Rex's restraunt for breakfast before heading to meet some of the group at the 23 & N. Territorial road Sunoco gas station. We plan on being there by 7:30 which should give us plenty of time before having to hit the road. Rex's is located in Wayne on the corner of west bound Michigan Ave and Wayne road. They have some great breakfast items & specials to chose from. Larry
  17. This was sent to me by a friend and wanted to share it with you all. Larry Recently, a gentleman from Seattle created a gesture which could be used and has started a movement to get the word out. Larry
  19. I'll 2nd that and add in that it's another great reason to spend the $12 a year to be a member here. Larry
  20. Didn't know it was your Turkey weekend Dave. The date was picked basicly cause it was available to more riders here. We'll catch up again eventually. Enjoy your turkey dinner and family Dave Larry
  21. I would strongly suggest to anyone who has just converted or planning on converting to a trike to also upgrade the clutch springs. My bike had 20 k on it when I converted to three wheels. Within 5k I was just starting to get some slippage in 5th gear at highway speeds and sometimes in 4th if running the rpms up accelerating strongly. I put in the PCW kit and haven't had a problem with slippage since. I now am getting close to the 48k numbers on the odometer. On average you'll be adding about 400 lbs more weight to the bike when converting to a trike. It don't sound like a like but it's enough to cause premature wear on the clutch. Larry
  22. Yep you were in the ballpark alright. 2 up and pulling a loaded trailer will give you those kind of numbers. Running 2 up and no trailer will up your mpg to about 30-34 mpg depending on how much that right hand twists the grip' Larry
  23. I don't think I can make this one. Larry
  24. Being my first time going to St Jude's I was totally taken aback by all that has been & is continuing to be done there. It's really an amazing place and all because of one man's vision, Danny Thomas. I know I walked out after the tour with a lump in my throat and something in my eye that had to be wiped away. As Lewis stated in another thread the real winners are the kids. Glad to have been a part of this event and won't be the last neither. Larry
