  1. Mike Szama is already in Ludington today. Reports the rooms are nice, the weather perfect, and he'll see us when we get there. Lucky dog had a long weekend so got the jump on us. Larry
  2. Since converting the bike into a 3 wheeler I haven't had anything like this happen. Even the cages seem to be more aware of that big ass behind me . Still one can never let their guard down and as Buddy Rich says you must always have your situational awareness on full alert. Larry
  3. Currently 10 riders committed with 1 already up there. Also 4 maybes still on the list , page 2 post #25 Larry
  4. Carl you gonna share your newfound wealth with us here at VR? A couple hundred grand to each of us would be nice and you'd still have loads left. Ya right We be dreaming again. Larry
  5. You'd think another motorcyclest would know better, especialy a curiser/touring type. Goes to show that it's not the bike but the rider behind the bars. Guess he had to be somewhere else in a hurry?? Have had a couple kids on the rockets pass in my lane in the past before too. First it rattles you then p**ses you off. Larry
  6. Joe & I will be meeting at Rex's restraunt for breakfast before heading to meet some of the group at the 23 & N. Territorial road Sunoco gas station. We plan on being there by 7:30 which should give us plenty of time before having to hit the road. Rex's is located in Wayne on the corner of west bound Michigan Ave and Wayne road. They have some great breakfast items & specials to chose from. Larry
  7. This was sent to me by a friend and wanted to share it with you all. Larry Recently, a gentleman from Seattle created a gesture which could be used and has started a movement to get the word out. Please take just a moment to watch "The Gratitude Campaign" and forward it to your friends! THEN START USING THE SIGN. http://www.gratitudecampaign.org/index.php?c=pages&m=watch_short_video

Larry
  9. I'll 2nd that and add in that it's another great reason to spend the $12 a year to be a member here. Larry
  10. Didn't know it was your Turkey weekend Dave. The date was picked basicly cause it was available to more riders here. We'll catch up again eventually. Enjoy your turkey dinner and family Dave Larry
  11. I would strongly suggest to anyone who has just converted or planning on converting to a trike to also upgrade the clutch springs. My bike had 20 k on it when I converted to three wheels. Within 5k I was just starting to get some slippage in 5th gear at highway speeds and sometimes in 4th if running the rpms up accelerating strongly. I put in the PCW kit and haven't had a problem with slippage since. I now am getting close to the 48k numbers on the odometer. On average you'll be adding about 400 lbs more weight to the bike when converting to a trike. It don't sound like a like but it's enough to cause premature wear on the clutch. Larry
  12. Yep you were in the ballpark alright. 2 up and pulling a loaded trailer will give you those kind of numbers. Running 2 up and no trailer will up your mpg to about 30-34 mpg depending on how much that right hand twists the grip' Larry
  13. I don't think I can make this one. Larry
  14. Being my first time going to St Jude's I was totally taken aback by all that has been & is continuing to be done there. It's really an amazing place and all because of one man's vision, Danny Thomas. I know I walked out after the tour with a lump in my throat and something in my eye that had to be wiped away. As Lewis stated in another thread the real winners are the kids. Glad to have been a part of this event and won't be the last neither. Larry

  16. It'll be a nice fall Michigan type ride weather wise. Larry
  17. Hopefully for the better too. Getting in some nice riding today in west Tennessee. More tomorrow when we head to St. Jude's. Larry
  18. Sure hope this all works out in your favor Randy. Larry
  19. Ya I've seen that place on the web while looking for local resaurants. Looks like a cool place to go for ice cream. http://www.houseofflavors.com/restaurant/ Larry
  20. OK folks looks like we have finally ironed out the main stops. Leaving my house at 9am. Riding with whoever comes to the house. Meet more riders at the Sunoco gas station on US-23 & N.Territorial rd. Leave there at 9:30. Pickup a rider or two going thru to Stockbridge and meet the rest of the riders at the Westown Shell at 1/2 mile west of M52 & M21. From there we head west to Greenville and have lunch at the Ponderosa restaurant - http://www.ponderosasteakhouses.com/ponderosa/ . Next we head on to Ludington with a rest stop or two along the way as needed. Joe & I have made arrangements for Saturday evenings dinner at the Old Hamlin restaurant - http://www.oldhamlin.com/ While there are many restaurants around Ludington only a few are able to handle our groups size. Some that could, needed an advanced schedule booked & prepaid. Sorry not on my dime. LOL On Sunday mornings breakfast we also decided to again go to the Old Hamlin restaurant. $7.29 for a breakfast bar. Discounts for seniors 55 & over apply both days too. We felt that their prices and service would be very good. Anyhow the owner is looking to be of service us all. On our way home we'll be stopping in Chesaning for lunch at Riverfront Grille - http://www.riverfront-grille.com/ . They too are looking forward to us being there. Check out the menus from the restaurants. After we leave Chesaning the riders will start heading their seperate ways to home. Pretty much like we did coming up I would think. Of course if some prefer different places to eat etc they're more then welcome to go where they wish, especialy in Ludington for dinner. Oh the title of this being the Little River Casino Fall ride Manistee was that in the past we did go to the casino so anyone wanting to go there Saturday after we get into Ludington can still do so if they wish. It's just under 30 miles to get there. Can't think of anything else at the moment but if we didn't cover something so far let us know. I know Joe & I are really looking forward to this fall ride and hope all those who go with us have a great time too. Larry
  21. You'll be missed Ian. Enjoy your game. Larry
  22. It does look like a long time heh. According to my Streets & Trips program it's 48 1/2 miles from N. Territioral Rd & M52 to the Westown Shell. Take in consideration we'll be meeting Sach57 in Stockbridge plus getting thru town the time will be closer then you think. We'll have I think 8 -10 bikes in tow as well. All of this is speculative on how well we get off to a good start etc. Could be a bit early or late accordingly. On another note Joe & I have chosen our lunch stops for Saturday near Greenville and another in Chesaning for Sunday on the way home. Still looking for a suitable location for Saturday evenings dinner. I did have a place picked but our group was too big for them. Later, Larry
  23. send me a PM. Got the stocker collecting dust
  24. Great pics and ya thanks for sharing them. We were out that 2 years ago, but in the cage. :-( Going to have to get back that way on the bike one of these years. Larry
