    While waiting for the shim kit to arrive I checked some valves today. Found several a bit on the tight side so doing this valve check is deffineately needed. My bike has just under 49k on the clock. Larry

    Started my winter maintance on the bike yesterday as well. Striped off most of the body parts & drained the coolant. Will be pulling the carbs and checking float levels today. Later will do the valve adjustment check. Too cold to work outside but the garage has a nice warm temp of 65* or higher if I want. Gotta love a heated garage. Larry

    Speaking of the V-Rod Harley really is missing the boat by not offering that motor in a touring sized bike. Probably don't want to compete with the RG's & Ultra's. Larry

    After researching shipping costs my Canadian customers will now pay the same as stateside customers since shipping cost has very little differences due to the packages size and weight. So to make life easier on me and folks north of the border everyone pays the same price for the hitch. I actually do the same on crash bar braces, horn brackets, and wiring harnesses. Thanks, Larry

    Been thru Chicago a few times myself. Car & bike. Never fun thou there were a couple times I didn't hit much traffic. Can't remember the times but know it was early am. I'd say take Rick's advice and hook up with him and Mike. Much safer in a group. Larry

    Thanks for all the great wishes, both here and on Facebook. Yep it was a very good day. After spending an hour cleaning 3-4" of snow off the sidewalks that is. Then afterward Joyce & I watched our grandsons hockey team play in a tournament. They won 5-3 as well as winning their last nights game 3-1 so well on their way to tomorrows championship. Hopefully their morning game goes as well for them. This evening dinner with our son, Eric & daughter in law Gail at Logan's Steakhouse. Larry

    Each type has it's own advantages/disadvantages both in costs and handling. Unless you've had a chance to test ride both kinds of set ups then it probably comes down to what you're willing to spend. I don't have the Hannigan conversion on my bike but I have ridden the Hannigan trikes and wouldn't hesiate at all on choosing one. Extremely comfortable and great handling all due to suspension & a wide track stance. One other possible route would be to add a side car rig. Costs of those would be in line with the Voyager types. One advantage of the side car and Voyager rigs is that the bike can be converted back to two wheels again while once you trike one it's pretty much a done deal. Personal opinion I will say that after triking my bike I wouldn't go back to two wheels as I really love the added safety and stability of the 3 wheels.     My solution was to swap out the stock RSV bars to the Flanders bars. They will not only have more rise ( same effect as adding risers) but also bring the grips back towards the driver too. The Flanders are also about 1 -1 1/2" wider at the grip ends. Larry

    So far a really mild winter here in my S.E. Michigan area. We've had above normal temps and only 1 measureable snow fall of about 1" or just enough to cover the grass. And that's all gone as of today. Larry
